OU Mono-Dark Team with Scizornician and Pokenub

Well hello people and welcome to the creations of Dark by Scizornician and Pokewatt. So today on a showdown server me and Sciz entered a OU Monotype tourney. After both losing out of the tourney i asked him if he wanted to build a Mono-Dark team with me since im in the process of rebuilding all of my mono teams, and i havent had a chance to work with Scizor yet in making a great team. About half a hour later this team emerge out of the Darkness. Well here you go and hope you enjoy.


Zoroark (F) @ Choice Scarf
Zoroark
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Night Daze
- Trick
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast

The star of this team is this guy right here. His illusion ability allows him to come in dressed as another pokemon and 9 times out of 10 hes dressed as a Sableye scaring people into not going for those priority Fake Outs and Mach Punch. Night Daze is a powerful STAB used over Dark Pulse for that 5 more Base Power. Even though using it gives away our cover as a Zoroark since its a exclusive move to Zoroark and only Zoroark. Trick allows us to throw away our scarf when we are able to outspeed the rest of the enemy's team and can sweep accordingly. Flamethrower along with Focus Blast are powerful coverage against the forces of evil we face in the Monotype metagame. All around a monster and carries the team half the time.


Sableye (M) @ Leftovers

The Spin-blocker, the status/set-up stopper. This guy can do it all from attacking to plain out stalling the opponent out. Will-O-Wisp cuts the attack of any pokemon it makes contact with also helping the bulk of our team and the constant damage is nice. Recover allows us to constantly heal up while we stall out the pokemon who will surely die in time. Tuant allows us to stop people from setting up or causing status problems. All of these get priority thanks to Prankster. Night Shade is mainly used so we aren't taunt bait and 100 damage each time isn't bad at all.


Mandibuzz @ Leftovers

EVs: 252 HP / 48 Atk / 36 Def / 172 SDef

Our main defensive wall Mandibuzz is here. We come in and Knock Off a few items that are enemies are holding to help the rest of the team out, while setting up Iron Defense to allow us to take just about any hit that comes our way and since we have the Big Pecks ability nobody can take away our defense unless the blow us out of the field or with some other shenanigans like Clear Smog or Haze. Roost allows us to constantly heal off any damage we have taken and get rid of our electric weakness for a turn. Toxic is again for stalling out the enemy until they die or switch.


Krookodile (M) @ Choice Scarf

Surprise. Say hello to our second scarfer on this team. But not only does he function as a scarfer but provides our team with Stealth Rocks as well. When we set those up on a switch out to something to counter Krookodile it convinces most people we aren't choice and we only switched to avoid a KO on said Krookodile and plus its nice to see that health bar on Volcarona and Yanmega drop 50%. Then we come back into the battle later and sweep a team with STAB Crunch or Earthquake. Stone Edge pair with Earthquake gives us that nice EdgeQuake combo and with a high critical hit ratio its not at all a bad move.


Houndoom (F) @ Life Orb

EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power [Grass]

This Houndoom is a monster special sweeper. Pair with Cacturne by taking Fire moves coming its way and getting a boost is nice way to end up a battle. Nasty Plot raises our already high special attack causing all our moves to do major damage to anything that wants to try to take him on. Fire Blast and Dark Pulse are two powerful STAB attacks that can burn and flinch pokemon respectfully. HP Grass covers our weakness and takes out any bulky water pokemon coming our way bar we have a nasty plot up otherwise in comes Cacturne to save the day.


Cacturne (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Seed Bomb
- Drain Punch

Another set-up pokemon, yep thats right. Cacturne is the perfect Dark type mate for Houndoom absorbing any water moves aimed at Houndoom. Swords Dance raises our high attack and allows us to start a sweep. Sucker Punch is STAB and priority allowing us to hit anything faster than us if they plan to attack us. Seed Bomb is another STAB move and hits hard at that. Lastly we have Drain Punch which is a great way to deal with other Dark types and a great source of Healing.
