Pokémon Rate My Team

Hey guys,
I love dark types, and I've been making a Competitive mono dark type team. I still can't decide on certain Pokemon/moves though, and I would take any suggestion.

Greninja (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Protean
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, - Atk)
- Scald
- Dark Pulse
- Extrasensory
- Ice Beam

Scald and Dark Pulse are for STAB, Extrasensory and Ice Beam for coverage. Also, I might scrap Greninja and replace him with Scrafty (I'll place the Scrafty set below), because this team will rely on Sunny Day (partially.)

Houndoom (M) @ Houndoomite
Trait: Flash Fire/Solar Power (Mega)
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, - Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
- Sunny Day

Flamethrower and Dark Pulse are STAB. Sludge Bomb is for fairies, and Sunny Day is for Solar Power and Shiftry. Houndoom will play a huge role in taking out major threats such as Aegislash, Klefki, Gengar, etc.

Shiftry (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Solarbeam
- Dark Pulse
- Extrasensory
- Synthesis/Nasty Plot/Sunny Day

Solarbeam and Dark Pulse for STAB, Extrasensory for coverage, and Synthesis for healing, although I'm thinking Nasty Plot might be better for switch-ins and Sunny day to get it back up after the 5 turns (so I don't risk losing my Houndoom.)

Krookodile (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Power-up Punch/Thunder Fang
- Stone Edge/Rock Slide

E-quake and Crunch are for STAB, Stone Edge/Rockslide for the EdgeQuake coverage, and Power-up Punch for even more coverage + stat boost

Weavile (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, - SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Night Slash
- Brick Break/Poison Jab
- Swords Dance

Weavile's main role is Dragon-slaying. He'll take out major threats such as Mega Garchomp, Mega Aerodactyl, and he can sweep if he gets a Swords Dance up sucessfully. Ice Punch and Night Slash are STAB, Brick Break/Poison Jab are coverage, and Swords Dance is for set-up.

Bisharp (M) @ ???
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 6 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, - SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Psycho Cut
- Rock Polish

I know Bisharp isn't all that fast, but I chose Jolly so he outspeeds a good chunk of Pokemon when he sets up the Rock Polish. Hes also my main Fairy counter. Iron Head and Night Slash are STAB, Sucker Punch is priority, and Rock Polish is for setting up for a sweep.

Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
EVs: ???
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- High Jump Kick
- Crunch
- Zen Headbutt
- Dragon Dance

I really have no Idea what to do with Scrafty. He's bulky which is good, since I have no other Pokemon on my team to take hits. He'll most likely replace Greninja due to weather negating Greninja's Scald.

I know this is a very gimmicky team, but I tried my best to get as much coverage as possible. I considered Mega Absol, Zoroark, Cacturne, Hydreigon, Mightyena (yes, really, with Play Rough it's deadly), Liepard (again, Play Rough), Malamar (topsy turvy + contrary to ruin any sweeps anyone might try), and Honchkrow. Again, I'm open to any suggestions, and I'm happy you live through this wall of text. Also, if there is any way to make more use of the weather, please do give a suggestion.

P.S. Sorry if I structured this post terribly, this is my first post here.

I LOVE Dark-type Pokemon!  I think you should totally find a place for Honchkrow, though.  You need Fighting coverage on this team.
On a similar note, you lack a reliable switch in to fairies, as well as fighting, other than bisharp. Drapion is a solid option for this
Yep, and Drapion rocks. Also, Honckrow would be another Ground switch-in.

I'm not in any way an expert at competitive, but I feel like there's a lot of consistent psychic moves on alot of mons. Don't get me wrong more coverage the better, however I feel like it's focused more offensively. You should consider some priority such as fake out on Shiftry, or ice shard on weavile on the off chance of an outspeed. A flying type would be vital for mono dark considering it covers 2/3 weaknesses dark types have. Bug. Fighting. I would consider honchcrow, for an offensive option or Mandibuzz even for defense walling and tailwind/defog support. Throw in a foul play/BraveBird and taunt with roost your solid. Also I noticed you aren't using any poison types. While bisharp has great typing and don't get me wrong it's a great Pokemon I feel it's wasted as it usually needs a swords Dance to do reliable damage to alot of bulkier mons. I'd suggest Drapion. It's reasonably fast, great defense, and running sniper with STAB cross poison and night Slash with high crit ratio is always reliable.

Also protect can be a viable move and can determine a battle. Don't neglect it.

This team is 5 years old, and its owner is most likely not on the site anymore. Please don't respond to old RMT posts.
