I've been using this team for a while, and it usually works very well. Scizor and Zoroark give me just enough switch initiative to make give Wobbuffet momentum to wreck my opposing team, as as well as form a nice defensive core with chansey. But recently I've been having trouble against SD Scizor, Talonflame, DD Charizard X, and setup sweepers in general. I've been considering using Skarmory and Mega Gyarados instead of Scizor and Azumarill, but then I loose all my priority and switch initiative. I've also been considering using Cloyster instead of Azumaril, as Wobbuffet encoring status moves gives ample opportunity to use Shell Smash, but without a spinner I don't like the idea of bringing it in on rocks. Anyway here's my team.

Zoroark @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Rash Nature
- U-turn
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast

Zoroark leads against Ferrothorn, Scizor, Galvantula, Greninja or Azelf. I try not to lead with zoroark as it's predictable, but illusioned as Gengar discourages the use of fake out and fighting moves, and sometimes can be bluffed as Gengar with focus blast, and surprisingly sometimes even with dark pulse(i don't know why but it does.) Unfortunately, this does not counter scizor, as +2 bullet punch kills. Also scarf works very well to remove things that normally outspeed, like other Gengars, latios/latias, Greninja (gets out-u turned) and other things.

Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Substitute
- Disable

The list of pokemon this guy checks is amazing. Most notably choice banded pokemon, choice specs, snorlax, some variants of conceldurr, Donphan spinner without ice shard, breloom lead, chansey( even though i can't touch it back...) and many more. He has amazing resist, two four times resists, two normal resists and 3 immunities. He works amazingly with Zoroark, as they can switch into each others counters, or bluff the other(which in never a good idea i admit, but sometimes it's all you can do). Also, free substitutes are common thanks to encore wobbuffet. This is my favorite pokemon!

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower

My physical attacker and my main priority user. This is my best check to talonflame, but something usually has to die first as BB 2hkos Azumarill. Sometimes I bring Scizor in on the BB and double into Azumarill on the flare blitz, but that's generally too risky. What else can I say? He hits like a truck.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Defog
- Roost

Scizor is the defensive wall for my team, and as I said before, gives enough switch initiative to wobbuffet to hopefully shut down whatever switches in. This is the closest thing i have to stop SD mega scizor, as defensive sets with roost generally can't 2hko me, and offensive sets without roost get worn down.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Toxic

My special wall. I know it gets shut down by taunt, but zoroark and gengar switching in on the taunt generally 2hko deal with sableye, and Scizor deals with crobat. This is the most standard pokemon ever so I don't need to explain this other than it counters charizard Y, and most other fire type pokemon that are both special attackers and too powerful for Azumarill.

Wobbuffet @ Leftovers
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 224 Def / 252 SDef / 28 HP
Bold Nature
- Counter
- Mirror Coat
- Encore
- Safeguard

Did I say Gengar was my favorite? Because I freaking love this guy! He is amazing and shuts down so many things. He is my teams best stop to boosting sweepers, usually surviving a +2 from anything not super effective, and KO-ing in return. Or of coarse encoring any stat move(safeguarding after if will-o or t-wave) to give a free substitute on Gengar or switch initiative from Scizor or Zoroark. As he is so bulky it's relatively easy to pass wishes into even on low HP, especially if he takes a fighting move aimed at chansey. Wobbuffet also provides another excellent illusion for Zoroark, and lets him shoot off a dark pulse on their set up move. Oh, and encoring stealth rock turn one is fantastic also.

Anyway that's the team. Is Skarmary with whirlwind more useful than the initiative Scizor gives? Is aqua jet and bullet punch not necessary priority for a defensive team, or should I even have more? It's only recently I'm having these problems but would really appreciate any advice.

I'd say Skarm is better than Scizor on a defensive team.
