On a quick view, I have a better idea for a Mega and a Contrary abuser
Staccato (Garchomp-mega) @ Garchompite
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
-V-Create
-Draco Meteor
-Leaf Storm
-Psystrike

It does pack a punch and after two V-Create speed boost, it outspeeds most of the metagame. Contrary Garchomp is not expected. But if it feels too original to your tastes, you can always use a Latios or a Latias. To me, Mega Venusaur simply doesn't perform well due to the abundance of Aerilate users.
