New to UU - Suggestions?

0 votes

Okay, so I'm new to UU and this is probably my 2nd UU game I've played. I actually like UU, they have a nice variety of good Pokemon. I've tested this team on Showdown and the main problems I've had are with Dusklops, Suicune, and Raikou. I'm not sure if they're a problem for pretty much every team, but I know they're really hard to take down on this team since Suicune is just annoying, Dusklops is so freaking Bulky, and Riakou is a Heavy Hitter. Please give me any suggestions you have. Thanks! :7

@ Lefgtovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

  • Scald
  • Psyshock
  • Flamethrower
  • Slack Off

This thing is a physical monster, even Darmanitans have trouble taking this bad boy out... Other than that, he's obviously my physical sponge and I don't really have any problems with.

@ Eviolite
Trait: Trace
EVs: 128 Def / 252 SAtk / 128 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Tri-Attack
  • Ice Beam
  • Thunderbolt
  • Recover

Two words. Special Wall! The only huge problem I have with him is Speed Which I think can be fixed by moving some EVs? But I haven't really tested it out.

@ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SAtk)

  • Flare Blitz
  • Superpower
  • Earthquake
  • U-Turn

Darmanitan is a power house, I don't care what Pokemon is out I'm Flare Blitz'ing. This Pokemon can rip holes into anything, I went for Jolly over Adamant because I didn't want to rick other things out speeding me.

@ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Heat Wave
  • Roost
  • Hidden Power [Grass]
  • Volt Switch

Basically the only reason Zapdos is here is to block Earthquakes for Darmanitan and it also has decent Special Attack. I'm probably going to Switch Volt Switch with Thunderbolt because it's just not doing enough damage but then again, I don't want to lose my Volt-Turn Momentum. I'm open to Switching this to Riakou.

@ Choice Scarf
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SAtk)

  • Pursuit
  • Close Combat
  • Stone Edge
  • Megahorn

Uhh, I honestly don't know whether or not to have Moxie or Guts on this thing, I've noticed that people ALWAYS go for the Will-o-Wisp n this thing I guess predicting it to have Moxie? So I changed it to Guts to get a little extra boost.

@ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)

  • Will-o-Wisp
  • Substitute
  • Recover
  • Foul Play

This is only here to Will-o-Wisp threats. Idk if I should have Thunder Wave on it over Will-o-Wisp? (I don,t even know if it gets Thunder Wave...)

IMPORTABLE

Moxie on Heracross.
Scarf on Darmanitan helps. Rock Slide works better on it also. I use it over Earthquake. But Earthquake works as well.
Timid, Life Orb, and Roost over Volt Switch is helpful on Zapdos.
Consider a Rapid Spinner.
For Porygon2, Speed isn't necessary. Go with 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd. HP give more overall bulk.
Taunt over Substitute on Sableye.
Guts and Flame Orb works well on Heracross, along with CC, Megahorn and Stone Edge.
Put a scarf on Darmanitan, and maybe replace Zapdos with Life Orb Raikou. (Thunderbolt, HP Ice, Volt Switch, Aura Sphere).
Also, Porygon2s that carry Tri Attack usually have Download. Use Trace with a more defensively oriented EV spread and Thunder Wave over Tri Attack.

I tried to be all smooth and professional like the guy above me lmao
Also, if you still opt for tank Porygon2, Discharge is a better option over Thunderbolt - You did say you had issues with being outsped anyway.

Slowbro looks good.

On Porygon2, change the EVs to HP-252 / SpA-252 / Spe-4

Darmanitan is a better Scarf user than Life Orb IMO.

On Zapdos, give it Life Orb and change Volt Switch to Thunderbolt

Here is the Heracross I use:

Heracross(M)@ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
EVs: HP-4 / Atk-252 / Spe-252
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Megahorn
-Facade
Flame Orb is here to abuse the Guts ability to get the Attack boost. Swords Dance to boost its Attack even further. These boost compliment the base 120 STABs Megahorn and Close Combat. Facade is base 70, but w/ burn gets doubled. That with Guts boost and Swords Dance(s) makes Heracross a beast. However, this Heracross is walled by Dusclops.

Sableye doesn't provide much support for this team. I would suggest replacing Sableye with ParaFlinch Togekiss.

Togekiss(F)@ Leftovers
Ability: Serence Grace
Timid Nature
EVs: HP-252 / Def-200 / SpD-56
-Thunder Wave
-Air Slash
-Roost
-ExtremeSpeed / Aura Sphere
Thunder Wave is paralysis which cripples threats and could paralyze them. Air Slash w/ Serene Grace. T-Wave is 25% chance of paralysis and Air Slash is 30%, but gets doubled with Serene Grace. This means that a Pokemon up against this Togekiss only a 15% chance of actually getting a move off (Obviously unless they block the T-Wave or have the Inner Focus Ability). For the last move, I use ExtremeSpeed, since it's priority and can finish off near-dead Pokemon. Smogon says Aura Sphere, but since you have Heracross and EQ and Superpower on Darmanitan, Togekiss has its weaknesses covered.

I hope this helped!
