1) Keep your plays as low-risk:high-ward as often as you can
2) Try to base predictions based on what the opponent's best course of action
3) Recognize the key Pokemon to winning a game and keep them around as long as possible
4) Keep your head clear and think about how each play you make affects the rest of the battle
