Does it matter if the defences are lowered?

If you're about to start a sweep with a Shell Smasher, do the Defences really matter at that point? It is worth it, getting double the Attack and Speed for the lowering(by ONE Stage) of the Defence Stats. If you are still worried about the Defence drop, then run a White Herb to retain your Defences as well as get the boost.

LOL me too. Happy GL? Ya got 2 upvotes = 1 BA!!!!
Nope. 1 BA is 30 points. 2 votes is 20. Plus, Mike got a vote from you too. But I'm still happy, thx.
No no, 1 BA=2 Votes. A BA is 20 Pts. A BA+Upvote is 30 Pts.
Hmm. Maybe it was changed.

Definitely worth risking it. If you put Shell Smash on a Cloyster it's not meant to be a tank. It's turned into a sweeper.

(Quoted from trachy)

Gen V

Cloyster (M) @ Focus Sash

Trait: Skill Link

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

Icicle Spear
Rock Blast
Shell Smash
Razor Shell
Okay then, Focus Sash allows you to get up Shell Smash. Now you have Skill Link, which makes your STAB Icicle Spear and Rock Blast do a ton of damage while also breaking through Substitute, Sturdy, and Focus Sash. Razor Shell provides STAB, and also has a good chance of lowering the defense of the foe, which could be helpful for foes with defense boosts or resistances. Standard sweeping EVs.
