Gen 6 Assault Vest Pseudo Goodra

Virizion @ Assault Vest
Ability: Justified
EVs: 104 SDef / 152 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Leaf Blade
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor

Okay, so everyone's heard on Showdown what this guy can do. But, for those that don't know what he can do, here's some notable feats:

2HKO'ing Max Def Rotom-Wash if burnt after the first Leaf Blade
Surviving Togekiss' Air Slash and KOing with Stone Edge (after SR)*
2HKOing Max def Slowbro with SR
Surviving Specs Typhlosion's Eruption (with Typhlosion at full HP) and doing 79% with Stone Edge (AKA KO's with SR) although Specs Eruption at full HP can KO 25% of the time, mind you.
And many other things that probably could be bragged about.

*If I remember correctly, it outspeeds standard Togekiss, and it was around 70~%, so it may KO with SR

Notes about EVs:
You absolutely cannot use less attack or a different nature. Otherwise, it hits like a wet paper bag.

What this set will not work against:
Talonflame
Physical attackers that can hit SE

I don't claim that it will do an extreme amount of damage. I don't claim that it will tank everything for days. I do claim that it takes out standard Max Def Rotom, which is on every team. I claim that it will hurt fire types. I'll claim it takes out Tyranitar with ease. It might 2HKO a lot of threats. I will say though, that taking a 4x effective move and living with 40% is something only other Assault Vest users can boast of. Taking Specs Eruption from Typhlosion is something to actually write home about.

If using this guy, please core it with a Slowbro or Rotom-Wash and a Sylveon. I'll tell you right now that it will not disappoint you if you do that.

Anyway, although it's amazing, I will have to say that it probably shines better in the future UU. But it does have a niche in OU, and that niche is amazing.

Switch assault vest for choice band. Switch X-scissor for megahorn. Other than that great set :).

This set is for BSS series 6. Virizion is a decent replacement for Rillaboom.

Virizion @ Life Orb / Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Focus Sash for Flying-Types. Just remember Virizion doesn’t have priority, unlike Rillaboom.

I just stone edge fling types and be done with it.
the idea behind focus sash is that you can still win 1v1 against a flying type even if you get outsped or if you miss

Like Cobalion. Not that great. Terrakion is much better. This quartet doesn't seem promising so far. But don't worry, the fourth guy looks promising.

Virizion
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat: You should know by now why I have this move here.
- Leaf Blade: So sad that very few Pokemon are able to use this, considering it is the best non-unique Grass attack.
- Stone Edge: Takes down a good number of weaknesses. These guys are starting to look the same to me.
- Roar: Psuedo-hazing. For those of you who don't know what that means, it means getting rid of your foes stat changes by making them switch

Same as me.:)
Lol little did you know at the time of writing that keldeo would be the biggest disappointment in history.
Keldeo looks strong, why would it be disapointing??
Because it has *chris traeger voice* literally no movepool.

Great Mixed Sweeper set for use in Smogon OU.

image

Samsung4G HD (Virizion) @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 104 Atk / 152 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Close Combat
- Giga Drain
- Work Up
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Thanks to certain Smogon users for helping with this set. The Leftovers ensure safe stat boosting and extended sweeping. It's a good idea to have a Pokemon that has a weakness to Dark in your team, for easy switching. EVs and nature give OK stats, but that's what Work Up is for. Close Combat is the obvious STAB, for large damage. Giga Drain is STAB, and recovers some HP after the boost with Work Up. Finally, HP Ice is for the many Dragons of OU, but primarily for the large Flying weakness.

Virizion @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Leaf Blade (high powered stab 90+stab=135 +12.5%c hit chance)
- Close Combat (another stab 120+stab=180)
- Stone Edge (takes care of fires 12.5%chance of c hit 100)
- Swords Dance (it's like what sf said you can make any attack good with swords dance raising its attack by 2 stages)

With Life Orb it's attack is around 400 and then you have 3 very high powered moves.
It can Swords dance a few times seeing as Virizion has good Def and SpDef and is capable of taking hits.
With Swords Dance and high speed and Atk its a great sweeper.

Since no one used X-Scissor, I may as well put up a moveset that includes it.

Virizion @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat / Sacred Sword
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor

Leaf Blade is STAB. Sacred Sword can be used instead of Close Combat. It has less power but doesn't have the stat drop. Stone Edge is for coverage against fire, ice, and flying types. X-Scissor I put in there for additional coverage against Psychic, Dark, and other Grass types.

Special tank Virizion!

Recently I have been trying to create unconventional sets for Pokemon, and I saw that every Virizion I have ever seen has been offensively based, but his stats lean heavily towards a special tank, so thats what this set is.

Virizion

Virizion @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 228 HP / 56 SpA / 226 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis
- Toxic

Calm Mind boosts special defense, and the special attack boosts helps him fight back with Giga Drain, which also lets him recover some HP. Synthesis is for reliable recovery, and Toxic is for stalling out those enemy sweepers. Wit those EVs, his HP is 380, his Special Defense is 385 (And both of those are great for spongingspecial hits), and his special attack will be 230, so after 1 Calm Mind, he oughtta be trolololing all those special sweepers.

Here's a wallish set that I devised.

Virizion @ Light Clay
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpA
Bold Nature
- Reflect
- Calm Mind
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]

This serves as an excellent check to one of RU's premier threats, Doublade. Look at these calcs:

+6 252+ Atk Doublade Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Virizion through Reflect: 248-292 (64.2 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252+ Atk Doublade Sacred Sword vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Virizion through Reflect: 93-110 (24 - 28.4%) -- 97.3% chance to 4HKO

+2 252+ Atk Doublade Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Virizion through Reflect: 124-147 (32.1 - 38%) -- 96% chance to 3HKO

+2 252+ Atk Doublade Shadow Claw vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Virizion through Reflect: 109-129 (28.2 - 33.4%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO

And as for attacking...

+1 96 SpA Virizion Hidden Power Fire vs. 212 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Doublade: 156-184 (50 - 58.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Not bad!

Two movesets here. The first one I believe is the better one, however.

Virizion @ Coba Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Sacred Sword
- Smart Strike

Swords Dance boosts the Attack stat. Leaf Blade and Sacred Sword are STAB. Smart Strike is to deal with Ice, Poison and Fairy.

Virizion @ White Herb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Solar Blade
- Close Combat
- Sunny Day
- Reflect

Solar Blade and Sunny Day go together, although it's very predictable. White Herb to help Close Combat's stat lowering, but you could switch it with Power Herb to charge up Solar Blade. Reflect to help its Defense. But seriously, if you're going for a normal set, you should probably go for the first one.

We all know why set 2 is trash. Set 1 would be fine, if not for COBA BERRY. If you're up against a flying type, YOU SWITCH!. It's a complete waste of a item slot which could be a choice item or life orb.

Virizion @ Assault Vest
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Careful Nature (+SpD, -SpA)
- Sacred Sword
- Leaf Blade
- X-Scissor
- Zen Headbutt
Sacred Sword and Leaf Blade for STAB.
Zen Headbutt for flinch chance, and Stone Edge for coverage against flying types that threaten Virizion in Gen 8 OU.
X-Scissor- less power, but better accuracy and bug type coverage for the pesky Psychic types
Megahorn- same thing as X-Scissor, but with higher power at the cost of accuracy.

Mixed Attacker with Psych Up
Gen 8 NU

Virizion @ Yache Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Giga Drain
- Air Slash
- Sacred Sword
- Psych Up

So, you'll want a slow pivot to lure in Blastoise and allow it to Shell Smash. Yache Berry allows you to take an Ice Beam better, so you can use Psych Up, which copies Blastoise's stat changes. You can even do this on other setup mons like Dragon Dance Flygon. Giga Drain is STAB that heals you. Air Slash is for fighting types like Toxicroak. Sacred Sword is STAB for steels so you can hit Copper super effectively. Zen Headbutt and Stone Edge are options for hitting Dragalge and Talonflame for super effective damage if you want to deal with those two mons.

Gen 8 NU

Virizion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Zen Headbutt allows you to deal super effective damage against poison types like Toxicroak, Vileplume, Salazzle, and Dragalge. Megahorn can be used on this set to OHKO Celebi. This set should be used on a spikes team so you can opposing Pokemon can get hurt by chip damage, which can bring them into OHKO range.
