Darmanitan (F) @ Leftovers

Role: Sweeper turned Tanker

Trait: Zen Mode

EVs: 128 Def / 252 SAtk / 128 SDef

Serious Nature

  • Flare Blitz
  • Flamethrower
  • Psychic
  • Hidden Power [Grass]

Flare Blitz gets his health low enough for Zen mode while pounding down with STAB Damage.

Flamethrower and Psychic being his hard hitting Zen Mode attacks, with HP Grass for coverage.

EVs: Attack + Speed (probably some in the way of Def/SpDef)
Ability: Sheer Force*
Item: Life Orb or Choice Band

  • Fire Punch or Flame Charge (I assume the Speed will still rise with Sheer Force)
  • Hammer Arm
  • Earthquake
  • Stone Edge

Type-wise this covers EVERYTHING.

* Daruma Mode is kinda lame, you need to mix attack and special attack but can only use one at a time (140 one stat vs 30 the other... no thanks). Sheer Force is great, and coupled with those items can probably OHKO everything it hits.

what is nitro charge i have never heard of it before
It was the Japanese name for Flame Charge.
Aparently speed will NOT rise with sheer force. Source: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/989552-/60362559
Covers everything; except water.
flame charge will not raise speed much better using flare blitz
why flame charge? sheer force removes secondary effects (speed up in this case)

A great sweeper, as long as it does not have Daruma Mode.

Ability: Encourage

EVs:Speed, Attack, HP Nature: Adamant

Flare Blitz/Fire Punch: I say Fire Punch, as Encourage makes up for the lower base power. It isn't likely that you would have burned anyway. Nitro Charge does not raise speed by the way.

Eartquake: Pretty much not affected by Encourage except for that power boost.

Stone Edge: Critical hits are still unlikely, so just focus on the power boost.

Return: Just gets a power boost, which is really nice.

Let it hold a life orb cause encourage will stop the damage and im sorry I posted this now since this was 6 months ago. EDIT: Choice Scarf is a better item since it makes up for his lack of speed.
Replace stone edge with rock slide, and return with u-turn. Although this is a great answer considering it was 7 months ago.

This is another set for a Daruma mode Hihidaruma:

Ability: Daruma Mode

EVs: Defense, HP, Sp Attack Nature: Modest

Substitute: Provides a way to get in Daruma Mode.

Psychic: STAB

Hidden Power Grass: To deal with weaknesses.

Flamethrower: STAB.

i honestly don't use the japanese names and i don't know why people does it. just use the english names, they are so much easier to remind, at least for me

Darmanitan (M) @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Sheer Force

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Rock Slide
  • Flare Blitz
  • Earthquake
  • Brick Break
Cool, this Darmanitan rules!
Instead of Brick Break, why not SuperPower...
He is Scarfed, almost every time you have to switch him out...
Just my opinion.
better than superpower, is hammer arm
No, hammar arm lowers speed. Lowering a sweepers speed is getting rid of their whole purpose. You shoukd keep superpower.
U turn Darmanitan is better than everything

So it turns out that Daruma Mode swaps Attack and Special Attack, which makes it a bit more useful. He also gets a big defense boost.

Normal: 105/140/55/30/55/95
Daruma: 105/30/105/140/105/55

  • Belly Drum - maxes Attack and hopefully switches to Daruma Mode, thus maxing SpAtk
  • Psychic
  • Flamethrower
  • Focus Blast

Should KO everything in its path.

I'm seeing conflicting info around so we'll have to wait and see...
what item?

Darmanitan (M) @ Petaya Berry

  • Psychic
  • Flamethrower
  • Grass Knot

This is the moveset that I use:
Darmanitan - Fire/(Psychic)
Ability: Zen Mode
Suggested item: Focus Sash
Suggested IV training: HP, Spd
Moveset: [Flare Blitz][Psychic][Focus Blast][Solar Beam]

Flare Blitz is a strong Fire-type move and takes recoil that helps turn Zen Mode.
Psychic gains STAB
Focus Blast is to take some Dark-types. Better you go attacking with Flare Blitz. If you and the oponent survive you may use Focus Blast.
Solar Beam is to to cover Water-, Rock- and Ground-types. You can start using the Solar Beam in Standart Mode. When you are charging the oponent may go using a Water-/Rock-/Ground-type move. You will have 100% chance to survive because the Focus Sash will defend you. But normally you will be the second to deal damage when you became Zen Mode and you will die but, with the Spd IV training you have a chance to be the first to attack. Now you can deal Solar Beam with high damage to oponent. Every times it works to me...

or if you can't/want get the Zen Mode

Darmanitan - Fire
Ability: Sheer Force
Suggested item: Life Orb
Suggested IV training: HP, Atk, Spd
Moveset: [Flare Blitz][Brick Break][Earthquake][Stone Edge]

Flare Blitz is a strong move plus Sheer Force and Life Orb will be able to K.O. everything.
Brick Break, Earthquake and Stone Edge is type coverage.

Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Sp. Def.
Careful Nature

  • Flare Blitz
  • Rock Slide
  • U-Turn
  • Earthquake

With its Choice Scarf, it can outspeed a lot of stuff, and U-Turn helps scout out your opponent's moveset. With a lot of water moves being special, its Careful nature and 4 Sp. Def. EVs can help it survive a few of them. You shouldn't really use Flare Blitz a lot, as it eats away at Darmanitan's HP, but Rock Slide's power skyrockets when you pair it with its Sheer Force ability and 252 Atk EVs. Earthquake can help you dish out an easy OHKO to annoying Rock- Types like Gigalith or Golem (providing they don't have Sturdy).

Good Pokemon my knows.

-superpower (high power and good accuracy )
-Flare Blitz (good power and accuracy stab)
-Trash (good power can take out almost everything)

(my first answer. I hope this helps)

I wanted to try this Pokemon with belly drum. This set is hard to use because of Darmanitan's awful defenses, but if used correctly is devistating.

EVs: 252 speed, 252 attack, 4 HP Ability: sheer force Nature: jolly Item: life orb (damage nullified with sheer force)
Belly drum
Fire punch (flare blitz gives it too low HP)
Stone edge

sunny day darmanitan
nature: doesn't matter
item: heat rock/sitrus berry
ability: zen mode
move set: sunny day ( obviusly )

flare blitz ( to activate zen mode)
                   psychic (while in zen mode)
solar beam (while in zen mode and sun is up)

heat rock is to keep sunny day up longer but sitrus berry is to recover none necisaary dammage sunny day weakens water type moves and makes solar beam a one turn move hope this move set works for every body else. :)

This is my moveset for Darmanitan

Role: Sweeper
Flare Blitz: STAB, great move to use with Darmanitan's Physical Attack stat
Grass Knot: Covers Water, Ground, and Rock. Most Rock and Ground types are heavy so this move works good
Stone Edge: Physical move and it takes down popular Pokemon like Talonflame
Earthquake: A very powerful move to go with its attack stat

This Set works good with a Assault Vest because of his low defenses

This guy is BEAST when its in its Zen mode form, so why not this set?

Darmanitan 252 Sp attack 252 HP 2 defense 2 sp defense

Ability: Zen Mode

Role: Special Sweeper & Wall

Item: Whatever you want

Flare Blitz is used to deal very high damage and the recoil comes handy because of the Zen Mode ability.

Psychic is just because STAB (same type attack boost) and gets a really good damage. (115 base damage or 135 base damage)

Focus Blast for coverage.

Flamethrower because of powerful stab and good accuracy.

Supersonic Zen Mode!

Zen Mode
Lum Berry
Naive/Hasty (+Spd, -Def/SpDef)
128ATT/128SPATT/252SPD (Attack EVs are split because Flame Charge is your only physical move)

Flame Charge (STAB/raise speed)
Rest (Heal HP/wake up with Lum Berry/change out of Zen Mode)
Psychic (STAB)
Fire Blast (STAB/could use another special Fire move)

Essentially, this is a set catering to Darmanitan's Zen Mode. Use Flame Charge to raise your speed until you're changed into Zen Mode, then fire away with Psychic/Fire Blast at breakneck speeds! Use Rest if you want to change out of Zen Mode.

I've used this set with success many times, and it always surprises people when I use Flame Charge/Rest!

Ok. This is my first post so be gentle.

I feel like its hidden ability is too unique to not use but its stats are all over the place. I came up with this set and it seems to work pretty well.
Neutral Nature
Ability: Zen Mode
EV: Hp 244, Def 132, SpDef 132
Item: Bright powder/Lum Berry/Focus Sash/Life Orb. Suggestions?

Substitute- great defensive move and helps get you into zen mode.
Focus Punch- high power! Coverage and works very well with sub.
Psychic- STAB
Flamethrower/Fireblast- STAB

The strat is pretty obvious, I think. Set up sub, use focus punch until you get into zen mode then go for special attacks. The EV spread will ensure that you go into zen mode after 2nd sub and the bulk will help you survive once in zen mode. I prefer Life Orb on this but if someone has a better suggestion, let me know. Thoughts?

Galarian Darmanitan @Liechi Berry
200 Atk, 200 Spd, 4 HP
Ability:Zen Mode

Substitute/Belly Drum: Get your HP down for Berry Boost and Zen Mode
Fire Punch: Good STAB move when you get Zen Mode, not Flare Blitz because your HP is already low.
Icicle Crash: Good STAB move, chance to flinch.
Earthquake: High power, coverage against 4x Rock weakness, Poison, Electric, and Steel.

This Pokemon is stupidly overpowered with the attack boost and if you put down Sticky Web, it sweeps teams. The only counter I've seen so far is Zamazenta.
