Trachy Suggesting HP? Hang on, Better pour some water on my face....

Course my set will pretty weird too....

Acupressure/Growth: Hope you have some luck for a speed boost or some stat rosen(or is it risen) thats decent.... Or Growth can raise Attack and SA.

Grass Knot/Giga Drain: I Wish everyone would stop forgetting of Giga Drains AWESOME NEW POWER!

Spikes: Yay.....

Toxic/Leech Seed: Support Your Team mates, or try to get some damage here...

Not forgotten, just useless with Water Absorb. Also Grass Knot would be more useful.

Why does this guy even exist?!? We have Cacturne! And this guy isn't even a Cacturne, it is worse. I like Cacnea better, at least Cacnea can do some damage in Little Cup. With the standard poor movepool of most Grass types, the only redeaming feature is Water Absorb, which makes it a decent switch in on Water types. However, Water types also have Ice Beam. So not that much of a redeaming feature.

Ability: Water Absorb

EVs: Sp Attack, HP, Defense Nature: Modest

Grass Knot: Since this guy is going to switch in on Water types, why not kill those Bulky Waters?

Hidden Power Rock: To deal with those weaknesses.

Spikes: Once they realize that they can't do much to you (if for some reason they don't have Ice Beam) then switching is likely.

Substitute: Water Absorb will heal you.

If I must say a moveset for this
crappy copy of Cacturne.
It would be...

• Giga Drain: Just for a good stab and healing

              at the same time.
  

• Acupressure: Ugh, if you have some luck this

                 move can help you.
  

• Toxic: For an annoying problem to your

        opponent.
  

• Substitute: It will help Maractus to kill your foe

              with Toxic and Hp loss can be healed
              by Giga Drain.

Why HP electric trachy?
It covers Water ( Already covered ) and Flying.
Why not rock ?
It would cover flying, and it would take out Ice.

I use it to completely counter any Water type. So the ones who resist Grass I now hit with Electric. This guy is a complete Water type counter.

This thing is a monster even if it is a rip off of cacturn it can still rip a hole in your team also this set is recommended for double battles ONLY send it out with a nine tails a charzard y or a groudon and it is unstoppable

I happen to love this prickly little guy, and even though they don't have much to work with, I came up with two movesets that, in a perfect world, could work!

Maractus @ Sitrus Berry
Adamant
Water Absorb
• Cotton Guard - Amazing move that'll boost it's defense up and make decently tanky!
• Seed Bomb - Good STAB move.
• Drain Punch - On top of Water Absorb, you can use Drain Punch to heal Maractus up!
• Knock Off - My favorite move; can eliminate pesky items and do good damage at the same time!

+252 HP +252 Atk +4 Def

This guy isn't gonna get anywhere with Special Defense, so being physically tanky with good HP and Defense, along with plenty of investment in physical Attack. The Situs Berry can help sustain you while setting up. Personally, I prefer this set out of the two! This moveset requires ORAS move tutors.

Maractus @ Absorb Bulb
Modest
Storm Drain
• Spiky Shield - Stalls a turn and can damage attacker upon contact!
• Cotton Guard - Amazing move that'll boost it's defense up and make decently tanky!
• Accupressure - Boosts random stat for self or ally.
• Giga Drain - STAB move that heals up Maractus.

+252 HP + 252 Sp. Atk +4 Def

Since Storm Drain will raise Maractus's Special Attack, it can bear without Water Absorb and makes up for it with Giga Drain. It's Special movepool is extremely shallow, so I had to make do with status moves. I'd say to run this Maractus next to a wall (or just Specially tanky) Pokémon with Surf. The Absorb Bulb would work well on this Pokémon, hence me choosing it. You could also have it run Toxic and Protect to help stall. I recommend Mantine.

I find that running Maractus as a general physical attacker can work out sometimes
