PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

Okay so I've just traded a Level 100 Shiny Heatran for a Level 100 Shiny Latios in the GTS Negotiations and I'm beginning to think it's hacked.

Although all of it's stats are between the figures they should be according to bulbapedia:

HP: 270-364 (301)
Atk: 166-306 (194)
Def: 148-284 (196)
SP.Atk: 238-394 (359)
SP.Def: 202-350 (257)
Speed: 202-350 (350)

I have a feeling it is still hacked. I have replaced one of the moves since I got it, the moves are:

Draco Meteor

The reason I included the moves were because the PP has been maximized to the limit so Surf instead of 15PP is 24PP, Draco meteor is 8PP instead of 5PP and Psyshock is 16PP instead of 10PP.

This means that someone must of spent a lot of time with PP Ups to get it's moves PP up.

As well as this the Pokemon seems to have an IV of 31 in every stat, as well as 252 EV's in Speed, 252 EV's in SP.Atk and 6 EV's in SP.Def according to my calculations.

It's Hidden Power is Dark and 70 Power according to http://www.serebii.net/games/iv-calcdp.shtml

Also it's nature is timid and it's characteristic is capable of taking hits.

If any thing I don't understand how it's Special Attack isn't 394 I mean according to my calculations is has 252 in that stat so it should be maximized to 394 shouldn't it and if latios has a minimum of 202 in Special Defence then how can it have 257 if it has only been given 4 EV's.

If it has been hacked why hasn't it's Special Attack been maximized to 394 like bulbapedia said it should be?

Source used to try and calculate it: http://www.serebii.net/games/iv-calcdp.shtml, http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Latios_(Pokémon)

Your Latios has a chance of being both hacked, and not hacked. You claim that you are a Timid Nature with 31 IVs in every stat, with 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd. Your stats should be the one you have on top. Your SAtk isn't 394 because you need to use a SAtk boosting nature, like Modest, Mild, Rash, or Quiet. 257 in Special Defense is normal; 202 is when you have 0 IVs in Special Defense and a hindering nature: like Naughty or Rash. 256 is the minimum with 31 IVs and neutral nature. With 4 SDef EVs, it goes up to 257.

Your Latios is legal. But having 31 IVs in every stat is extremely rare;

is the chances of that happening. Combine that with shiniess chance, 1/8192, turns into a extremely small chance,

So your Latios is legal from it's stats, but the of acquiring such a perfect Pokemon is rare.

Cheers for the help, you seem to know a lot more about stats than me so thanks :)
A literal one in a million chance. o_o
No it's a literal 1/1,073,741,824 chance.
$5 says they created it on PokeGen. But if its on the GTS, it cant be hacked.

That person may have RNGed it
OR they are a very good RGNer (random number generator) and knows how to force the game into making your next encounter a perfect pokemon its legal and produces what you want for how you want it to be. all CORRECTLY RGNed pokemon are: perfect (usually shiny) have 31 all ivs, perfect EV setup (252, 252, 4) and are perfectly tradable meeting all GTS requirements.
I myself and one, and I have gotten pretty badass pokemon like this, such as my volcarona.

There is a software you can get for your computer that abuses codes to make perfect Pokemon. It's legal, so that could just be the case.

EDIT: I believe it's called “RNG Manipulation”.
