Please don't run mixed sweeper. If you have to, use mach punch, overheat, u-turn, shadow claw/close combat. U turn resets the low SpA, Overheat beacause the Spa drop doesn't hurt much, mach punch for priority, and shadow claw for pesky ghost types.
^ Infernape's Sp. Atk is trash.
@ButterScotchSylveon lol infernapes base sp atk is the same as his atk, in fact a special set for infernape is actuallly good since flamethrower or fire blast, vacuum wave, grass knot, etc. he makes a good mixed sweeper with naive or hasty nature
@Poketopia Okay, I don't know how far my mind was into space when I made that, what I meant is that Infernape has much better moves as a physical set than a special set.

This set is specifically for the Battle Tree. This doesn't fail me yet!

Basically, the double flinch combo. Biggest flaw is that you get walled by Rock types. xD

Ability: Iron fist
EVs: 252 Atk 252 Spd 4 Hp
Jolly nature (+speed,-sp atk)
Move Power
- Fire punch 75 (its 90 actually,because of iron fist)
- Thunder Punch 75 (actually 90,iron fist Deals with 2 weaknesses, flying and water)
- Close Combat 120 (Stab, good power, lowers def and sp. def though)
- Earthquake 100 (good move, deals with rock, other fire types , electric , steel , poison

Infernape (M)
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: Max attack and Speed and 4 HP
Adamant: To increase attack since it has high speed already in a base stat of 108.
Thunder Punch: For flying and water types just in case they have some.
Mach Punch: Priority move and Wynaut? (pokemon joke)
Fire Punch: Well it is a fire type after all.
Earthquake: For naughty rock types that people bring, espicially if you have traded it to sun and moon or the ultra games.

Infernape @Leftovers/Choice Band
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4HP
Nature: Adamant
Close Combat: Powerful, STAB.
Flare Blitz/Blaze Kick: Explained underneath.
Earthquake: OP move, kills things
Shadow Claw/Swords Dance: Hit Ghost types or boost Attack.

Personally I run mine with Leftovers and Flare Blitz + Shadow Claw. Close Combat is amazing, as Infernape has such poor defenses that it is pointless to put any EVs into increasing them. Flare Blitz you can heal off the damage with Leftovers, whereas Blaze Kick would be used if you were Choice Banded, as Flare Blitz would kill you due to recoil. Either Choice Band or Choice Scarf could be used to boost either Attack or Speed. I chose Shadow Claw as this set gets fairly walled by Drifblim, but Swords Dance could be used once conjunction with Leftovers to boost his already decent Attack to insane levels. Also, nicknames are everything - called mine Rafiki from the Lion King and my friend laughed so hard he accidentally clicked Self-Destruct on his Voltorb XD

- Slack Off

So, Flare Blitz is POWA and gets you down to Blaze range faster. U-Turn is for pivoting and gaining momentum. Taunt is for walls like Toxapex, and Slack Off is healing.

Focus blast (STAB, works great with glasses)
overheat (STAB, works great with glasses)
solar beam
hyper beam (last resort, use it near end of battle)

first one is attack. second one is special.

Don't put Overheat with Special moves unless you are going for a hit and run. Hyper Beam for last resort is bad either. Solarbeam is also bad if Infernape is not in a Sun team. Wise Glasses and Flame plate are really bad items outclassed by some other like Life Orb or Choice items. This is a bad format...
