Is Weedle added to your Pokedex when the old man shows you how to catch Pokemon in the Kanto Region?

I'm tired to add to much into the question. Is Weedle added to your Pokedex?

Basically you dont catch it, so it does not add up.
If you seriously want to compelete the dex then go ahead into viridian forest for weedles.

It's data isn't, but it is "seen"

Yeah. I did it again. viewing the Pokemon adds seen status, just like if you examine the Pokeballs on Oak's table, you will have "seen" the third starter.
