There's no indications, even so much as in-game dialogue, that these two are related. Kanto and Alola are stated to be geographically close, so it's possible, but it's probably not something that was done intentionally. The colour purple is commonly associated with Ghost types in the games, so it stands to reason why specialists of the type would have purple hair. There's really no explanation for their names starting with A other than a coincidence or a slight nod of recognition.
