I play ORAS, and I’m looking to start forming a post-game competitive team.
I used mega loppuny as my physical sweeper during the game, but I’m considering using Infernape with this move set:
Infernape @ Life Orb
Nature: Modest
Ability: Iron Fist
Fire Punch
Thunder Punch
Mach Punch
Swords Dance
Not sure what I’d use for my mega though; any suggestions?

You should use Metagross because it's good.
Don't use Modest on a physical Infernape, it lowers Attack and boosts Special Attack. Use Adamant instead
Yeah. I thinking I’m doing Jolly.
How does Metagross play?
Is this for the Battle Resort?
Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: clear body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly nature
- meteor mash
- ice punch
- thunder punch
- bullet punch
Id be using it for the resort and competitive
Not a full answer, but you should probably read https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/roa-resources.3659267/
I need to know the rest of the team to get a good idea on a better set or Pokemon to use
I haven’t fully designed a team yet, but I am considering Lapras and Aggron for special and physical walls (and Lapras has Freeze Dry) And gardevoir for special sweeper.
Wash Rotom and Ferrothorn are better walls because they have less weaknesses and better support moves, like volt switch and leech seed.
do you want me to build you an entire team for you. I probably could.
That would be amazing, thanks!
Other people already built a bunch of good gen 6 teams here ( https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/ruins-of-alph-sample-teams.3650478/ ), but none of them have Infernape.

(This is gonna suck)

I think you may want some sort of special attacker, so maybe try alakazam.

For the set:

Alakazam @ Alakazite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Modest nature
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Shadow Ball
- Calm Mind

I hope I helped! (But I know this sucked HARD)

The infernape looks good, and for a mega I would go with good ol salamence. Set could be:
(Mega) Salamence@Salamencite
Salamence
Ability:Intimidate——->Aerialate
•Dragon Dance(Good Stat Boost)
•Double Edge(turns into a flying STAB move and a 30% boost on top of that because of ability)
•Outrage(Good STAB move)
•Roost(to heal up a bit from the damage double edge does to yourself)

STAB Aerilate Double Edge = 234 BP
Super Effective Stone Edge = 200 BP

Aerilate also gives a 30 percent boost in Gen 6

why
Oh whoops lol forgot that ice didn’t resist that I’ll edit it thanks
The Salamence build looks awsome, might try it (dragon types are my favorite any way)

This may sound crazy but I'd pair Infernape with Mega Slowbro. Type wise they fit perfectly defensively and offensively. You have two insanely different Speed Tiers and you have a Special Attacker to defeat Pokemon from both defensive sides. You don't even need to mega evolve it if you don't want to, so you could run an extra mega Pokemon if/when you play Battle Spot.

The Set

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Def / 136 SpA / 80 SpD / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Psychic
- Grass Knot

why is grass knot better than calm mind
I heard it is a Great Wall (mega or not). Though; why not calm mind?
