Why isn't Budew learning Leaf Storm through breeding in Platinum?

So I recently decided to replay through Platinum alongside some friends and I wanted to give my Roserade Leaf Storm and Spikes. I bred a Roselia with a Victreebel that knew Leaf storm and that worked out fine and now I'm trying to breed the offspring of the first pairing with a Cacturne that knows spikes, but every time I hatch a Budew all it knows is Absorb and Spikes but not Leaf Storm. Any idea why?

If the father or, starting in Generation VI, the mother knows any specific Egg Moves that the baby can learn, the baby will inherit the move.

Platinum is before gen 6, so mothers can't pass egg moves in Platinum. I'm pretty sure the specific combination of spikes and leaf storm is incompatible on Roserade in Platinum.

Still, it'd be a way of showing my appreciation XD (didn't know how to reply to your reply so I just replied to your comment). Is there any way to be able to teach Roserade both moves or would it just be better to pick something else?

They need to add a system where you can reply to people's replies instead of just commenting on an answer. I had a look at the link and red means a general flag but what does that mean? Not very clear on that

Sorry that wasn't for you HorrorMGAfan19, that was for Dracovish. I was basically telling him flags have different meanings and to use his brain for a sec before asking why it was flagged because it's lowkey annoying
