Hello,

I’m aware that there’s kinda similar questions floating about but I can’t find the answer I’m looking for.

Basically I’m needing help with my in-game team, which I aimed to be Serperior, Swoobat, Vaporeon, Lucario, Zoroark, and I have a Growlithe currently but I’m wondering if it’s worth keeping or switching for the level 35 Volcarona that you find in Relic Castle.

Could anyone point me in the right direction? Please and thank you :)

(Edit: or would Darmanitan work better?)

Volcarona is really good from my experience, although it might have to rely on EXP. Share for a bit. You can get good STAB with the Flamethrower TM found on Victory Road and Signal Beam, which I think it learns from a Driftveil City tutor.

Although, your team looks like it'd consist mostly of Special Attackers, so Arcanine might be better in that regard.

Out of the three, Darmanitan is your best option, with Arcanine in second. Darmanitan is an absolutely brutal physical attacker, with access to Sheer Force and moves like Flare Blitz. It can completely pummel most opponents, and its frailty doesn't much matter in-game. Arcanine is also extremely good, as it's a physical Fire type that you already have. I don't like it as much as Darmanitan, as Darmanitan has always worked better for me, but it may just be a matter of preference.

I don't think you should use Volcarona because it doesn't get very many good moves until quite late in the game, meaning it can be deadweight for quite a while after you get it. You also already have an abundance of special attackers on your team. Better Bug types for in-game purposes are Galvantula and Scolipede.

Darmanitan @ anything
Ability: Sheer Force
- Fire Punch / Flare Blitz
- Headbutt / Belly Drum
- U-turn
- Zen Headbutt / any other physical move

Hope I helped!

I think belly drum is better than headbutt.
I edited it in as a choice, but I do still think Headbutt is better. Darmanitan doesn't really need the Belly Drum boost, and Headbutt can do pretty solid damage after the Sheer Force boost.

Volcarona is not good because it adds some more weakness like flying, poison, rock x2.So it is good to use the others.
Darmanitan with sheer force is useless and it stats are the concers for it.Zen mode willbe more effective but it is not needed in this case as you have Swoobat in your team.

I recommend ARCANINE as it worked very well in my team which was similar to yours
SO:
[email protected] Belt( I used this but you can choose something special if you know)
Ability:Intmidate(IT is better that Flahs fire on my opinion)
-Flare blitz(lvl up)/Flamethrower(lvl up)
-Wildcharge( coveragegainst water)(TM)
-Crunch(lvl up)(coverage)/Extremespeed(lvl up)(Finsh the battle inspeed)
-Close combat(egg move)/Focus blast(TM) (Both coverage against rock)

SO you can continue with your Growlithe.
If you want Close combat breed female growlithe with a male lucario with close combat.
SOURCE:MY OWN IN-GAME EXPERIENCE

HOPE I HELPED
Thankyou

Can you explain what is wrong with Darmanitan's stats? It is fast and powerful -- what more do you want for an in-game playthrough? It is frail, but why does that matter when it OHKOs everything?
Why would you want Zen Mode when it is so slow and forces a mixed moveset? Why do your concerns about extra weaknesses apply to Volcarona and not Zen Mode Darmanitan?
also Please don't make almost everything caps. It sounds rude.
ok sorry for that wrong information but is my arcanine opininon good
