Ik this isn't about a moveset but... why does none of the metagross line get iron fist as an ability? I mean they actually have iron fists... unlike ledian.. who gets iron fist instead of metagross.

I didn't invest anything or check the nature. My mega Metagross uses earthquake, meteor mash, rock slide and protect. It never failed me, takes out at least 1 opponent. Other mega Metagross  fail to kill it, even with that monster earthquake!

Nearly every metagross in existence uses the moves Earthquake and meteor mash, and for good reason, they cover a wide range of types. As for the other 2 attacks, I would suggest these 2 if you want " a fast one.":

Earthquake-Powerful, covers fire weakness

Meteor Mash-STAB, powerful move, okay accuracy

Agility-gain speed boosts once after a while in the battle when your opponents pokemon have been weakened, a well played metagross will usually have more health at this point, leading for sweeping since your metagross is fast, it should be able to outspeed most with a boost from agility, the only thing to watch for then is trick room.

your last attack varies from what your team needs. Many people will add explosion as a last resort for when metagross' health is low, many can see this coming and usually switch in with a ghost type.
Use a move that will compliment your team, covering any types that metagross can't hit with the previous moves mentioned.

It won't be voted down. I would however suggest getting in Zen Headbutt for STAB and to complement Metagross's attack. You could also replace Agility with Grass Knot to deal with Ground types which are also usually very heavy.

well ill put calm mind not agility.Agilty you can change it with an item quick claw.Metagross doesn't have very good special attack (still very good xD) so by using calm mind you can get even higher attack but you can get also more special (if you need more special in your moveset).That's my opinion.

Quick Claw is banned in competitive. Agility is better than Calm Mind because he can sweep with it.

Maybe since this metagross wouldnt be very good against dark types, Hammer Arm or shadw ball. But then again since you want fast, agility would work along with a move that slows your opponet alot, tough I don't think metagross can learn any. Toxic might be a good choice too.

Overall, this is the strategy id use. Start with agility or toxic, whichever one you want, since Metagross has good defenses to survive a hit while he poisons or speeds up alot. Then, use the move hes best with, Meteor mash is strongest, but not very accurate. Maybe earthquake next, to weaken the opponet alot. Then, finish the opponet off with either psychic or meteor mash, since they might be a little stronger with STAB than earthquake. But if your sure it will work, earthquake is an option for a finisher, too.

Rather average attack stat????? Metagross is a physical sweeper! + A pseudo legendary ! And if you look at them , most of them are physical sweepers. ( Excluding hydreigon because of wider sp. movepool ) replace hone claws with agility - that , is kinda rather average , and replace ice punch with bullet punch. It can sometimes save Metagross from pinches.

Zen Headbutt/Earthquake- Simple type coverage. Takes care of potential switch ins like Rapidash, Simisear, Torkoal, etc. It also punishes the plethora of poison pokemon (alliteration ftw) if need be. Zen headbutt won't cover fire as well, but it does gain STAB for an extra little boost, so do what you will with it.

Toxic- Deal in residual damage to prevent pokemon from trying to outstall him. Luckily he cannot be poisoned himself, so just watch for will-o-wisp.

Stealth Rock-Pretty self explanatory move. This is also the main purpose of the set, so be wary of potential

Meteor Mash/Reflect/Light Screen-Have more means of attacking, or bulk up the team.

Um ..... You were sort of asking what's  so good about agility . Well, trick room does wear off ... And agility is more applicable to Pokemon than trick room is . ( If you didn't get that ---> ) More Pokemon can learn agility than trick room. And btw replace gyro ball , curse , & trick room with meteor mash , bullet punch and agility / ice punch if you need coverage from what normally kills Metagross : E-quake.

What with his attack topping off at 405 I find it incredibly hard to beleive that no one here has posted a Choice Band set for this monster. Bullet Punch is STAB, and great for revenge killing weakened opponents, while your choice of Meteor Mash or Iron Head is primary STAB. Zen Headbutt is secondary STAB, and Ice Punch is coverage.

As stated before, Calm Mind raises his SDef to transform him into a Mixed Wall, and it's other effect of raising its SAtk. strengthens it's STAB Psychic Attack, hitting Pokemon weak in the SDef. area. This set is quite classic, using Dual STAB Attacks and boost that increase his bulk. Leftovers grant him SOME form of recovery, while the Bold Nature grants him monstrous Def.
