Do you have to go to the Move Deleter to remove Sketched HMs on Smeargle?

Say a smeargle sketched an HM move. Do you have to go to the move deleter to delete that move or when the smeargle reaches another level to learn sketch, can the HM move get replaced by sketch can you just press the button and 1, 2, 3, you know sketch? I need an HM slave T.T

Yes, you have to go to the Move Deleter.
