Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections. Remember, small corrections only!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

so you can find colisopod in bridge field and on golisopods page it says you can only find it at the lake of outrage
On the gen 2-5 type coverage page it says that clefairy and snubbull line dont have any weaknesses even though they are meant to be normal type even if i used a type such as steel that is super effective towards fairy wont work also you should remove pure fairies from gen 6 onwards because they share the same problem

On Scizor's dex page, it says you can evolve Scyther to get a Scizor in Let's Go Pikachu. As far as I know, Let's Go Pikachu does not have Scizor in it.

by
This refers to the generic Pokemon pages, right? I don't think those are particular to any game or generation. This problem should exist for every evolution line that has changed between generations.
Again correct me if I'm wrong, but this sounds like less of an error and more something you have to bear in mind.
They must be talking about the locations section at the bottom: https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/scizor#dex-locations
LGP is included with SM/USUM. Looks like the same is happening for other cross-gen evos such as Bellossom, Hitmontop, Tangrowth.

In the Breeding & egg moves page, in the Passing down IV stats section, Ninetales was misspelled three times.

"The baby will inherit three stats from either parent. So if you were breeding a male Infernape and female Ninetales, the resulting Vulpix could inherit the HP and Defense IVs from Infernape and the Speed IV from Ninetails."

"The IVs chosen are random and in the case of the same one being selected twice, the former would be overwritten with the latter. For example, if the game chose Ninetails' HP and Attack, then Infernape's Attack, then the baby would only inherit two IVs - the HP from Ninetails and Attack from Infernape."

Just wanted to let you know.

Galarian Mr. Mime and Mr. Rime should be Ice/Psychic not Psychic/Ice in the database.

Does anyone actually care about this?

On the Flatter (move) page, it is listed as boosting Special Attack by two stages, when in-game it only boosts by one stage.

Burning Jealousy is confirmed to be a special move, have 70 base power, 100 accuracy, and 5/8 PP, but these details are not listed on the DB.

Grassy Glide, Shell Side Arm, Surging Strikes, and Wicked Blow are also missing information.

This is missing Quick Draw and Unseen Fist.

On the page for Galarian Slowbro, it doesn't say that it can have Own Tempo or Regenerator. Own Tempo is a second ability and Regenerator is a Hidden Ability.

Volcanion is an event-exclusive Pokémon; full details are not yet known.

Volcanion page

Volcanion has been out for many years now, so perhaps this sentence should be removed.

Alolan Exeggutor's stats are messed up. The bars on its stat page are really messed up: Speed is one of the largest bars but it's red, and Special Attack is one of the smallest but it's Alolan Exeggutor's best stat.

by
I'm not having this issue. The speed bar is small and red, sp. atk. bar is the largest.
Weird, must just be my phone....
It's fine for me too.
It’s happening on this page: https://pokemondb.net/amp/pokedex/exeggutor
I’ll check into it.

In Generations 2-3, Feint Attack is a Special move due to the type-based categorization of moves.

This is on Pursuit's page, yet it says Feint Attack.

Pokemaster edit: the DexNav Pokemon for Hoenn do not specify when they're post-National Dex.

Hello, im currently playing Pokemon omega ruby, and im using your web site to find information on Pokemon in every area (like I've always done), and im sorry to say but i think you made en error in the site, because most of the Pokemon, you right you can find, you can't actually find.

It's so frustrating, pleas let me know if it's just me that's blind or if it's you that made a mistake.

this is not a complaint, just a heads op.

Could you provide some examples?
Note that there's a probability of each pokemon appearing - some appear less than others.
of course, on route 101 it says that, with the DexNav, you can catch, Lillipup, Zorua, and Sewaddle, well I've looked on that route extensively, and i'm telling you the only pokemon you can catch with the DexNav on that route is Zigzagoon, Wurmple and Poochyena. Your site even says that Zoura and Sewaddle is common pokemon in that area and i'm pretty sure none of them is in the game.

BTW. thank you for answering :)
That's because those Pokemon are only available in after you get the National Dex, the site just doesn't specify that. After you get it, a ton of new Pokemon start appearing on the DexNav. So it's actually correct, just a bit vague. Other sites like Bulbapedia say the exact same thing (see http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Hoenn_Route_101#Generation_VI ).
Thanks for bringing this up though!
Oh! great! got it as the last thing last night so i havent tried it yet, cant wait.!

thanks a lot and no problem :)
Thanks. I've edited the answer with clarification, in other words what I actually need to fix when I get around to fixing it :)

On the page about IVs:
> In Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver, you can find out what type Hidden Power would be for any Pokémon by showing it to a man in the game corner Prize Exchange building (Veilstone City for Platinum, Celadon City for HG/SS).

This needs to be updated.

Please add that Zigzagoon gets the move ExtremeSpeed through Pokemon Box: Ruby & Sapphire Event in Gen III. It is given to the player as an egg, which later hatches to a Zigzagoon once the player has 100 Pokémon in storage. This is a list of multiple Pokémon

Swablu - Start of game, knows False Swipe

Zigzagoon - 100 Pokémon, knows ExtremeSpeed

Skitty - 500 Pokémon, knows Pay Day

Picchu - 1499 Pokemon, knows Surf

Is there information on moves you get by transferring Pokemon from Colosseum or XD?

Berserk Gene is a hold item from generation 2 (I just learned this from a question on PB and decided to search for it) but it's not listed anywhere on the site.

A whole lot of items are missing from the item page. PM never really finished it.
People actually learn from me? Maybe not everything I say is silly garbage after all.

I'm not entirely sure if this is an error, but under Notable Trainers in the Rock-type page, Olivia isn't listed. She's the Rock-type kahuna of Akala Island.

by
The same is with the most if not all the types.

I noticed in Mew’s etymology, it simply states “a cat sound”. However, I believe that Mew has this name because of the Greek letter “Mu”, which is used in biology as a variable for the mutation rate in population genetics. I believe that this makes more sense that simply a cat sound, but I may be wrong...

On the National Dex page, Meltan and Melmetal don't have sprites, they have their official pictures, though they were already released. They also have no sprites on their Pokedex pages.

Does everyone think this is a dumb error? Is that why no one said anything for 6 days? Or is Database just a little dead lately?
here, have an upvote
Okay, thanks. But it's still odd that nobody but you commented on this. Do you think I should post this on our Discord server?
nah leave it here Pokemaster will see it eventually
There's just nothing to add. That means everything that needs to be said is already in the post.
What do you mean by "the post", are you talking about this answer?
Primal Gordon, don’t worry I already saw this. It’s on my list to fix when I get time!
Okay. Now I know my efforts are appreciated.

The gender ratio for Litleo/Pyroar is wrong, it's listed as 1:3, but it's actually 1:7 (87.5% female).

Drifblim can technically learn Strength Sap at level 1 (at least now it can), however it is not listed as a Pokemon that can learn the move by leveling up on the Strength Sap page. I'm not sure if this is a mistake or if it's intentional because it technically doesn't level up to learn the move, you have to take it to a move rememberer, but that is what I found.

Edit: I have recently learned that Galarian Corsola and Cursola also learn strength sap through leveling up as well, and only Morelull and Shiinotic are listed as Pokemon that learn the move through leveling up.
