Before you think this is insane and downvote it, I'm going to try and address some of its major flaws. I feel like they cannot be fixed.

The users

The RMT is in a spot where someone posts an absolutely awful team and people don't give good enough advice (or advice that pales in comparison to smogon's), or when a really good player posts a great team which cannot be rated here because they're objectively better than everyone else at a specific format. The amount of actually knowledgeable team raters is ridiculously small, even smaller than the amount of good teams submitted there.

Replays thread

A large majority of replays there are straight-up boring, with nothing special about them. Outside of that, the replays are just the occasional good AG player replay and everything else is a sweep that happens on low ladder, someone being caught using terrible gimmicks, noob salt, or a Rock Slide miss being viewed as epic hax.

Possible ways to fix this

  • Cracking down on users who make bad posts on the RMT; the RMT is not moderated as well as Pokebase. There needs to be punishment for people who post low quality stuff.
  • Instead of clogging the RMT up with the **** we see today, which pushes actually good teams out of the spotlight in favor of trash, mods should just... not approve them? Instead of closing it, I think walling the poster would be better. Or maybe, close the post and after a few hours, hide it.
  • Control the amout of boring replays on the new battle replays thread

By removed, I meant a new one would be put up. I didnt realize that had already been done.
Fine. Is everyone happy now?
While I personally thought of the not approving "trash posts", it might lead to people constantly asking why this or that wasn't approved. It also won't help anyone to get better at/learn competitive. (These are just my thoughts tho)
This is quite the controversial post. Though i do agree with it. Some pokebasers just don't enjoy or have the competitive knowledge to rate long teams, which results in most questions in the rmt going unanswered for years. We could allow in game teams and it might help but we're just better off deleting the battle subway all together and all it's "glorious" memories and leave the actual competitive work to smogon, a site that is literally dedicated to competitve. While sites like bulbapedia provide more detailed info than pdb, pdb specialises in having a system of interacting with other people to help you with almost any Pokémon related question you have.
The RMT absolutely should not be terminated, but I do agree we need to do a better job of moderating it.

And what happens if we got rid of the RMT? Competitive play questions are still Pokemon-related questions. Getting rid of it could very effectively turn new users away from the site. Just because another site does it better doesn't mean we shouldn't do it as well.
