PokéBase Meta Pokémon Rate My Team
0 votes

This is my first competitive battling team so I decided to base it around one of my favorite Pokemon Ampharos open to any constructive criticism. All of the sets come from wiki.pokemon-online.eu however I picked out the sets and pokemon to build off and synergize with Ampharos.

If you remove Umbreon, this could be a good NU team :)
I've got this. Remove the Misdreavous and replace with a water/psychic type like Azumarill or Munna.  Get rid of life orb on altaria and give it a dragon claw which adds STAB onto Draco Meteor and other moves. Armoldo, change it for a Dark Type, like any dark type and that will be better. Instead of leftovers on every pokemon, play around. Give some berries and some leftovers. Evolve roselia with a shiny stone. Umbreon, Hm... Replace it with Flareon. And give it charcoal. Level them all up to at least level 60 or 70. Ampharos, needs to be a level 80 since it's your tank. I personally think your missing something. You need some X abilities for tough fights. I would give one pokemon a sticky barb and fling. I recommend a Shuckle As: Shuckle @ Hard Rock

 - Rock tomb
 - Calm Mind
 - Stealth Rock
 - Recover
But have different types for different fights. Hope this helped!
No offense to Swagikarp above, but I'm going to disagree with what he said.  Dragon Claw is a move not an item, and STAB comes from typing not items. Secondly this is a competitive team so levels are all 100 and also please don't replace Umbreon with flareon... flareon syndrome... = best stab Fire Fang. Useless. Also please don't use shuckle. Can it even learn recover? And its complete taunt fodder

So on your team each of the individual movesets are decent. However get a physical attacker. A team with a good special wall and/or taunt will basically shut down your whole team, due to you only actually having 2 attackers with both being special attackers.
I might change Altarias moveset to;
[email protected]
EVs: 248 HP / 180 SpD / 80 Spe
Ability: Natural Cure
-Dragon Dance
-Dragon Claw
Bulky physical attacker with a couple Dragon dances under it's belt it becomes extremely threatening. Dragon Claw gives good power and STAB and Earthquake hits those pesky steel types.

ALTERNATIVELY uses Specstaria
Keep your current set and everything, just replace Life Orb with Choice Specs and also replace HP Ground with Dragon Pulse
Dragon fang
Keep Umbreon. knightofdragon is right. The combination of Umbreon's incredible Def. and Sp. Def makes it good for outlasting damage, healing itself in the process and also dealing damage on your opponents, plus the moveset and item that you chose fit it's role and stats perfectly. Also, I am a huge advocate for using Shuckle, because he is the ultimate everlasting, frustrating tank. I am currently training one in my silver version and I highly recommend looking into possibly utilizing it. However, with that said I understand looking at your team if you don't choose Shuckle. Your team is great in the sense that you will be causing damage utilizing a lot of different techniques and strategies. A true physical attacker with alright speed with make your team better. I'm not that much of a fan for armaldo.  I personally would use Scizor. One of my favorite pokemon. Insane attack and a good move set to play around with, plus with only one weakness and a bunch of types that barely affect him. A water-psychic type would be nice too, but where it stands now, your team is incredibly well-rounded with the ability to hurt all of the opposing's teams pokemon in different ways with a nice dose of healers
Thank you all for your input i desided to use the physical altaria above
