The Ramones (Sun 5th Gen OU)

7 votes

Hey friends. Its me your buddy Once/Cakey. I have your final 5th gen OU team from me. This team is the team I try to use the most and have even used it stomp 6th gen teams (like Mew and Kyron's :3). Well, lets get into it now.

Once is kewl

The Lead Vocalist

Joey @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 104 SDef / 148 Spe
Timid Nature(+Spe, -Atk)
-~ Flamethrower
-~ Roar
-~ Toxic
-~ Wil-O-Wisp

Joey brings me my Sun. And this how I use my Defensive Joey. Flamethrower is the attack I use which pairs nicely with STAB and Sun and is used over Fire Blast because of PP and Accuracy which I like over the sheer power. Roar is for the Pokemon that wall me after I've handed out status or if I happen to run into Heatran. Toxic weakens Pokemon for kills now or later and Wil-O-Wisp goes at physical attackers.

The Lead Guitarist

Johnny @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
-~ Quiver Dance
-~ Sleep Powder
-~ Giga Drain
-~ Hidden Power [Ice]

After stealing Joey's girlfriend Linda, and eventually marrying her, the two could never speak to each other again. Despite this, Johnny needs Joey's song and sun. Johnny's movepool is shallow, but Quiver Dance, Chlorophyll, and not being weak to Stealth Rock makes up for it. Sleep Powder is used only when necessary due to shaky accuracy. Giga Drain is a beautiful STAB that heals Johnny up after Life Orb damage and Hidden Power [Ice] is for Lando, Gliscor, and other Pokemon who think they can stay in on Johnny.

The Bass

Dee-Dee @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spe
Naive Nature (+Spe, -SDef)
-~ Outrage
-~ Fusion Bolt
-~ Ice Beam
-~ Sleep Talk

Providing the band with low-awesome sound and on bass, Dee-Dee is scarfed to be fast enough to clean late. Outrage is too powerful and hurts anything unresistant to it. Fusion Bolt will take out weakened Politoed for me. Ice Beam is filler for Dee-Dee because of its slack movepool. Sleep Talk will allow Dee-Dee to absorb Spore and still attack, but is generally unreliable and will be replaced for Earth Power for testing.

The Drums

Tommy @ Leftovers
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 136 SDef / 96 Spe
Careful Nature (+SDef, - SAtk)
-~ Substitute
-~ Outrage
-~ Earthquake
-~ Stone Edge

Rear-stage is Tommy on his drums. Substitute and Rough Skin is Tommy's way of slowing down the competition and setting up for switch-ins. Powerful attacks are needed because EVs are used elsewhere than in Attack. Outrage is an amazing STAB that allows Tommy to always win with a Sub as long as the opponent can't take it. EdgeQuake compliments each other and is resisted by just 3 Pokemon.

The Greatest Hits: Sheena is a Punk Rocker + Blitzkrieg Bop

Sheena @ Choice Specs
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SAtk / 8 Spe
Modest Nature
-~ Psychic
-~ Shadow Ball
-~ Hidden Power [Fire]
-~ Trick

Written back in 1977 and ranking on the Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time List at #457, Sheena stops Steels blocking Johnny, Tommy, and Dee-Dee. Psychic is a STAB and is used on the weak. Hidden Power [Fire] under the Sun makes Sheena a type of glue. Trick is used late-game to stop stalling. Shadow Ball has poor coverage and Thunderbolt will soon be tested over it. 8 Speed EVs ensure I don't run into a Speed tie with Scizor.

Blitzkrieg @ Custap Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Lax Nature (+Def, -SDef)
18 SDef IVs
-~ Stealth Rock
-~ Rapid Spin
-~ Volt Switch
-~ Explosion

Written in 1976 and ranking everywhere, Blitzkrieg is a much needed spinner and and Hazard Setter. Custap + Sturdy ensures I can do whatever I need and the 18 SDef IVs make sure it drops under 25% against any Politoed in Rain. Stealth Rock is self explanatory. Rapid Spin makes sure Joey and Dee-Dee can switch in frequently. Volt Switch is used to scout on the switch and Explosion is for the Lightning War :3.

Thanks for reading this. If you haven't, go back and read it. Its short and easy. Thanks to anyone who rates. Thanks to Modern Wolf from Amethyst for suggesting Sub Garchomp.

I don't explode willy nilly. I don't use Trick every game either, does that mean it sucks? No. I don't use Ice Beam from K B every game either. Should I get rid of it? Gee, if don't use Quiver Dance during every battle, is it just a bad move? Hmmm...
Yeah Ice Beam sucks on Kyurem B u noob. Get rid of it, doi
Dont know who you are a calling a noob, so i'll assume you are talking to yourself, because Ice Beam gives Kyurem-B a surefire counter to Lando-T, Gliscor, and still hits Celebi without risking Outrage against a CeleTran core.

So no, Ice Beam is a must "noob"
/me flees
It was a simple 1-0. ;-;
