PokeBase Meta Battle Subway - RMT

I'm a huge fan of Steven (the champ from the Hoenn region), and I think it would be a lot of fun to build a team that mirrors his style, just, ya know, better than his was. This is for single battles, and I have no competitive battling experience so far, just an understanding of the basics and how to make strong movesets. I always try to use moves that have additional (positive) effects as well, though I understand sometimes that's pointless or unrealistic. Any suggestions for moveset or Pokemon choices would be appreciated, but keep in mind that this is a "theme team".

Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Brick Break
- Facade
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt

Shuckle @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Rest
- Shell Smash
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Flash Cannon
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball

Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Stone Edge

Swampert @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bulldoze
- Ice Punch
- Seismic Toss
- Waterfall

Edit: Changed the team from hypothetical to my actual one in use on Smogon, after listening to the advice from the first commenter.

I know this is a theme team, but can you tell us exactly which Pokemon we can suggest? Also, don't use more than one mega stone. It's much better to have one mega and give leftovers and life orbs to everything else. If I had to pick one Pokemon on this team to keep its mega stone, I'd pick Lucario.
Any useful/powerful Rock/Steel/Ground type Pokemon. Those are the types of Steven uses and it also synergizes with Tyranitar's ability and the Sandstorm move. Suppose I should mention now it's for OU, which Meg Lucario is banned in (wups). What would be your second suggestion? Metagross?
Metagross looks like the right choice for a mega.
Why does your Tyrannitar know dragon dance if it has an assault vest? Why is your Tyrannitar holding an assault vest when its sand stream is already boosting its special defense a reasonable amount? Why is your Tyrannitar not holding a smooth rock when this is a sand team?
Don't use muscle band, ever. Life orb is always better.
Well, those are all excellent points. Guess I wasn't paying attention when I was configuring Tyranitar. Also, any ideas for getting around the whole "my entire team is weak to Earthquake and every other team has it" thing? Landorus in particular has been wrecking me if they manage to boost its speed at all. Edited the team to reflect changes.
If your team is generally scared of ground attacks, try using Ferrothorn, Quagsire, Celesteela, or a Landorus of your own. Teaching ice punch to Metagross also helps sometimes.
u should add a bastiodon he's pretty good:)
Again, you should provide an explanation with every suggestion you post on RMT. As for Bastiodon specifically, its only good stats are defenses, and it has no good healing moves to compliment those good defenses. The only thing it really does to this team is stack weaknesses and make the team easier to sweep by anything that knows earthquake.

Garchomp's set is a little shaky, as Muscle Band is not a very good item. I could see a potential Expert Belt set with EQ, Dragon, Rock Slide and Poison Jab. Otherwise, it looks pretty solid, and I love the idea of Contrary Shell Smash.
