PokéBase Meta Pokémon Rate My Team

This is my first baton pass team. I decided to make one because it seemed like fun. However, I do need some help with what I have going here. If I'm mis-using a pokemon or should substitute one I have, or whatever, please help. I am working out of Gen V.

[email protected] Focus Sash
Ability: Speed Boost
Jolly Nature ( +Spe , -SpA )
EV's: Spe-252 / HP-76 / Def-184

  • Baton Pass
  • Swords Dance
  • Substitute
  • X-Scissor

Ninjask is my lead. With the Speed Boost ability and Swords Dance I can get some good boosts in both stats. It can also set up Substitute, which is crucial. X-Scissor is a STAB attack that I have in case it gets Taunted.

Ability: Synchronize
Careful Nature ( +SpD , -SpA )
EV's: HP-252 / SpD-128 / Spe-128

  • Baton Pass
  • Mean Look
  • Wish
  • Substitute

I'm using Umbreon as a Mean Look / Wish passer. My thinking was that I would use Mean Look, then pass to Mr. Mime who would Encore & Trick the Choice Specs onto whatever, and then I could set up my team with ease.

Mr. Mime
Mr. [email protected] Choice Specs
Ability: Soundproof
Timid Nature ( +Spe , -Atk )
EV's: HP-252 / Spe-252 / SpD-4

  • Baton Pass
  • Encore
  • Trick
  • Calm Mind

Mr. Mime is my Calm Mind passer, and my "trapper" pokemon for the team. Umbreon passes Mean Look here, then Mr. Mime Encores and Tricks the Choice Specs onto the other guy.

Ability: Own Tempo
Jolly Nature ( +Spe , -SpA )
EV's: HP-128 / Spe-252 / Def-128

  • Baton Pass
  • Spore
  • Ingrain
  • Substitute

Smeargle uses Spore and Ingrain. Spore to provide some security and Ingrain to prevent phazing, so that my chain is unbroken.

[email protected] Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Bold Nature ( +Def , -Atk )
EV's: HP-128 / Def-252 / Spe-128

  • Baton Pass
  • Acid Armor
  • Aqua Ring
  • Surf

Vaporeon is my Defensive & Aqua Ring Passer. I gave it Surf, so that it has a STAB water move. I've considered replacing Aqua Ring or Surf with Work Up.

Now here I'm trying to pick a receiver.I'm trying to decide between Lucario or Espeon as a Mixed Sweeper. DW Espeon will have Magic Bounce, but Lucario has stats that are better suited for Mixed attacking.

I don't know, I've seen many similar Teams with almost the same Pokemon.

First off please Dont put sash on Ninjask!sub breaks it which is a noob thing on baton pass teams not uncommon but doesn't work. Search up the speed raising berry since you can sub out till he finishes his job. You'll almost always move first anyways since he's second on speed to Dexoys-S alone. Sitrus works well too, as does lefties and starf. For your moveset agility is an option but whatevs. Mr Mime is one of the worst baton passers given his terrible stats...Espy can pull a simlar set better due to calm mind and magic bounce. Plus mime takes too long and if they run hyper offense physical or something he's done. Mime is just too difficult but you could try adjusting his Evs to be bulky support. Anywhom Umbreon is good but keep in mind curse and payback. Vaporeon is nice but scald>surf to furthe punish physical pokes and maybe 128 special atk>hp but it's good. You may consider ditching Aqua ring bc of ingrain plus it gets screens, namely reflect. Smeragle is good. Taunt is your biggest issue but I think a speedy sub solves this so keep that in mind. As for the sweeper anyone will do, but I like ones who can pull of a ragtag bolt/beam or edgequake or vice versa. MegaFireBlast T-Tamar, Mixed Salemence, mixed Dragonite, mixed Infernape, mixed Hydregion for a few. You should note that a physical sweeper doesn't need spAtk so ditching a calm minder for someone else could payoff. Piece out
