First thread: If the asker knows how to select the answer and they chose not to, then we mods aren't going to overwrite that. If the asker wants to select an answer, then they can.
Second thread: Originally I was going to say it looks like the asker chose not to select an answer here too, but I think there's a good chance they didn't see your answer at all, so I selected it.

We're only selecting answers when it looks like the asker is unaware the feature exists, or hasn't come back to the site since asking the question.
