No, Zari can speak. She's just shy and very startled.

Takio and Rakin didn't know English because they grew up in the wild, without parents to teach them. But even around people, they never got the hang of it.

Yes, fire for Rakin, lightning for Takio, and ice for Zari.

It was the day. The boys of multiple villages had gathered, about to hop up and down with excitement. Today would be the only day in ten years that the Giver of Magic would appear and bless a young boy with the power of magic. This would open up realms of new adventure for the boy chosen. The boys gathered were anywhere from young teens to boys who should have been supervised by their parents. However, parents could not attend. It was for the gathered boys, and those boys only. The excitement suddenly stopped as two boys approached the group. "Tcha, kiaaah!" one of them shouted and pushed his way past the crowd. Though no one could understand what he was saying, they knew he wanted them to back off. So they cleared a path as the boy's hostile gaze burned through the crowd. He was scrawny and mangy-looking, but what little bulk he had was pure strength and muscle, which one could see in his arms when he flexed his hands angrily. He knew there was something going on, and he didn't like it. The other boy showed no force. He simply followed his clearly aggressive companion through the crowd. Instead of anger, his eyes were filled with curiousity. He, too, looked rather mangy and weak. However, he didn't have as much as a wild appearance. He looked more friendly, while the other boy looked like he would kill you if you so much as looked at him the wrong way. "What... what is Takio doing here?" asked one of the boys quietly, not wanting to be heard by the aggressive boy. "I don't know, but it seems to have interested Rakin as well..." whispered another boy. However, there was no time to discuss this. The ground started to shake as the altar rumbled. A bright light poured out of its center. The boys gazed in awe as the light shaped itself into a being. But then their awe turned to shock when they saw the form it had taken: that of a tall, formidable dragon whose scales glowed like moonlight. It was the Giver of Magic, but he hadn't come to bestow his magic. He had come to fight to see what boy proved himself worthy of the magic. "Mih-mih-mih...!" Rakin stuttered upon seeing what was standing in front of them. He wasn't terrified, but in such a state of shock that he might as well have been. He could see the magical energy pouring into the area. Takio stared at the dragon aggressively, unflinching despite how incredibly strong he appeared to be. Most of the boys backed away, not wanting to fight such a formidable-looking foe. The dragon roared and beat his wings, creating such a gust that it knocked almost everyone away. But Takio planted his feet into the ground firmly and Rakin did the same on all fours. The dragon eventually stopped beating his wings and roared loudly. This time, he was issuing a challenge to Takio and Rakin, the only ones who had stood up to his wingbeats. Somehow, both of them understood this. Takio and Rakin got into fighting postures and stared the dragon right in his eyes. He roared again and leapt into the sky. He fired a beam of energy from his mouth, but Takio dodged swiftly. Then he leapt up, being naturally agile, and grabbed onto one of the dragon's front legs. He tried to shake Takio off, but he held on with a grip of iron. But while he was distracted, Rakin leapt up onto his other leg and climbed into his back, careful to avoid falling onto his back spikes, which could impale him. He climbed up the thrashing dragon's neck and grabbed onto the horns on his head as he finally shook Takio off. Takio's landing was far from elegant, and his vision was blurred when he opened his eyes. Blood dripped from his head onto the ground, and every sound felt muffled to him. He could barely even think. But then his thoughts came back to him for a brief moment. Rakin was on the dragon. He knew he had to get Rakin off, or he'd suffer even worse injuries. But even if he had been able to do so in the state he was in, he wouldn't be fast enough. The dragon, quite sick of having Rakin on his head, stretched out his wings and spun around with incredible speed. He kept up this high-speed spin until Rakin, who couldn't hold on, hit the ground with such force that a dent was left in the stone floor near the altar. His eyes fluttered open weakly as the disoriented Takio tried to shake him and get him to stand up. Every movement hurt. Even the tiniest movement sent surges of pain throughout his body. To Rakin, death felt preferrable to moving his arm. The dragon decided to deal the finishing blow and fired the energy beam from his mouth once more. When the boys noticed it, there was no time to dodge, not that they could've. The beam struck, and when the dust settled, what awaited the spectating boys was a horrid sight. Takio and Rakin were lying on the ground, charred and cut, perfectly still. Their breathing had stopped. There was nothing to be heard but silence for what felt like hours. But then the dragon approached the still forms of the boys and put a clawed foot on each of their backs. A light emanated from the dragon and spread to the boys. Their cuts healed as the skin seemed to grow back in an instant, covering any marks. Tendrils of light wrapped around them as their eyes opened. "Sah... thaaaaaa..." Rakin breathed, slowly pushing himself up off the ground as the dragon removed his feet. Takio was still for quite a few moments before lifting up his head. He stared at everything in disbelief, realizing that he had died just moments before. The boys that had been spectating were staring in shock at the spectacle. Takio and Rakin were shining with a brilliant light. They could feel energy flowing through their bodies, unlike anything they had ever felt before. They felt a power surging through them. Rakin slowly held out his hand, and a small flame appeared above it, shining about as brilliantly as the aura he was enveloped in. He closed his hand, and the flame, along with all traces of it, disappeared. Takio tried the same, and electricity surrounded his hand. He could feel a slight tingling sensation, but no pain. He was in complete control of it. "Gaaaachaaaaaaaah!" he yelled, feeling incredibly triumphic. The other boys didn't know how to react. The Giver of Magic had chosen the mangy, scrawny boys who were raised without parents and didn't know how to speak instead of anyone else. It was also the first time heard of when the Giver of Magic chose two boys instead of one. The Giver of Magic simply turned into his pure light form and disappeared back into the altar. The boys knew they likely wouldn't gain the opportunity to be blessed with magic again. They would be too old. But Takio and Rakin barely understood what was happening, and so they ran from the altar, so amazed with their new capabilities and so joyous that they were alive, as the sun set.

That night, it was time for the girls to beg for magic. The Giver of Magic usually only gave his magic to boys, and he did so on his own whims. So the girls couldn't just arrive. They had to beg for him to come and beg for him to bless one of them. Sometimes he gave a girl magic, sometimes he didn't. While he was constant with the boys, he was erratic with the girls. But as the girls kneeled and quietly begged, the Giver of Magic was so pleased with who he had chosen that he decided to show himself. As the altar shone once more, the girls' breath caught in their throats. A young girl who had recently turned eleven, and happened to be the youngest of the group, was the most surprised. The Giver of Magic appeared, but not as a dragon this time. Instead, he looked more like an angel. When he decided not to challenge anyone, it was the form he was usually in. But while he looked like an angel, he was very small. He was less than half Takio's height, so he was even shorter than the short girls. He hovered above the group and yawned. He was ready to take his ten-year rest, so he decided to make the night event quick. As he shone with his brilliant light, tendrils of light burst out of the ground. Most of the girls were about to scream for him to please select her and bless her with his magic, but instead, the tendrils wrapped around the youngest girl, who was terrified. She hadn't really planned to go to the altar, but her mother had insisted she went. When the tendrils disappeared, a brilliant light shone around her. The Giver of Magic disappeared back into the altar as the other girls surrounded the youngest girl. "It... it couldn't be!" one of them cried. As they all crowded around her and she backed away nervously, another girl approached them. "What happened?! You're all supposed to be begging the Giver of Magic, and- what is going on with Zari?!" she screamed. Zari was staring at herself in confusion and amazement, almost unaware that she had been gifted magic. "Oh, Naleen! We begged the Giver of Magic to give us magic, and he appeared in front of us... and he gave his magic to Zari!" one of the girls cried. "What?! Zari?! But she's so young and stupid!" Naleen exclaimed. She was three years older than Zari, and had always considered her far younger. She had always bullied Zari, and now was no exception. She grabbed Zari by the collar of her shirt, lifted her up, and glared at her. "Why did he give the magic to you?! Why?! It's not fair!" As Naleen had arrived late, it was perfectly fair. But she didn't believe that. She believed that the Giver of Magic had been completely unfair by giving Zari magic instead of her. In her mind, she deserved magic. Zari, who was frightened, tried to tug Naleen's hands off of her shirt collar. She had always been afraid of Naleen, and now she was even more terrified. However, when her glowing hands touched Naleen's hands, she immediately let go of the younger girl, looking as if she had touched an object that burned her. But she wasn't burning. She felt her blood run cold as ice water all throughout her body. She felt it all freeze for a few moments. Then she fell to the ground. One of the girls ran up to her and felt for her heartbeat. "She's dead! Naleen is dead! Zari killed her!" she shrieked. Zari hadn't meant to kill her. She hadn't meant to inflict any sort of harm. She had just wanted her to let go. For a moment, all was silent, the atmosphere thick with shock and fear. But then Zari, in tears, fled, dashing across the moonlit paths.

Conway... funnily enough, I don't recall him. He kinda sounds familiar though.

Happy Mother's Day I guess. It's one of those things I have like zero interest in. I didn't even know it was Mother's Day.

I uh.

That is literally my reply. I have no idea what to say to that.

OK, done.

Azera (Dragalge) (F) @ Life Orb / Choice Band
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Lonely Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Outrage
- Aqua Tail
- Play Rough / Iron Tail

Physical Dragalge is trash. Gunk Shot is STAB. Outrage is STAB and Dragon coverage. Aqua Tail is Ground coverage. Play Rough is Dragon coverage, though you could use Iron Tail I guess. Also, if you'd like to, you could run Draco Meteor somewhere and change the 4 EVs to SpA or something. Not with Choice Band though.

If she has EVs (she likely does if you leveled her up outside of Poke Pelago), you could use the EV-reducing berries to drop her EVs to zero, listed here:

Pomeg Berry - Lowers HP EVs by 10, and also raises friendship in Emerald and Gen 4 onward
Kelpsy Berry - Lowers Attack EVs by 10, and also raises friendship in Emerald and Gen 4 onward
Qualot Berry - Lowers Defense EVs by 10, and also raises friendship in Emerald and Gen 4 onward
Hondew Berry - Lowers Special Attack EVs by 10, and also raises friendship in Emerald and Gen 4 onward
Grepa Berry - Lowers Special Defense EVs by 10, and also raises friendship in Emerald and Gen 4 onward
Tamato Berry - Lowers Speed EVs by 10, and also raises friendship in Emerald and Gen 4 onward
(Yes I copied this from an answer of mine.)

Then you could train her on Poke Pelago. If Isle Evelup (I think that's the name) is at level three, you need to have her play for 63 rounds with the Attack- and HP-boosting drinks, then 1 round for the Special Defense/Special Attack-boosting drink (depending on your choice). Alternatively, you could temporarily trade her to me and I could do it for you.

I still have their sets. I'll make Azera a moveset sometime (Lonely sucks but eh), so yeah.

Alex (Honchkrow) (M) @ Life Orb / Choice Band
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird / Drill Peck
- Night Slash
- Superpower
- Steel Wing / Roost

Before you go "OMG LIFE ORB AND BRAVE BIRD???", yes, I know the recoil is staggering. But it's powerful, and power seems to be your playstyle. Combined with Moxie, for as long as you survive, you're going to be killing. If you really want Drill Peck, then use Drill Peck. Choice Band is also there for a nice power boost. Night Slash is STAB. Superpower is Rock and Ice coverage. Sure, it has the drawback of lowering your Attack and Defense, but hopefully you'll KO to get an Attack boost from Moxie to negate that. Steel Wing is kinda weak, but Honchkrow's physical coverage is kinda weak. Roost is for healing, which can help in the case of Life Orb, but he might not last long enough to use it.

Notes:
- Don't use Choice Band with Roost.

Idalia (Sunflora) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Early Bird
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Energy Ball
- Earth Power
- Sludge Bomb

Sunflora saddens me. The movepool. Save my soul. Anyway, Choice Specs, yay. Leaf Storm is strong STAB but lowers her Special Attack by two stages. If you switch in and just need to deal a heavy (for Sunflora) blow, then likely die, then it's the move for you. Energy Ball is also STAB with no negative drawbacks. Why do I put both on here? Because one, Sunflora's moveset is trash and I didn't want to include Hidden Power because it's kinda luck-based, and two, it's for when you're not switching in and need to deal a heavy blow, then likely die. I mean, you can't switch between them without, well, switching, but I tried OK. Earth Power is Fire and Poison coverage. Sludge Bomb is coverage of nothing in particular but is there because Sunflora gets nothing better. If you have a sun setter, you could run Solar Beam for a STAB move, but you likely don't.

Rozella (Masquerain) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Ice Beam / Energy Ball / Scald / Shadow Ball
- Quiver Dance

I tried, I tried, I failed and died- anyway, you set up Quiver Dance once (or more than once if you're lucky), get down to one HP, and then pray to Arceus you can outspeed and KO. Focus Sash is so you can live a hit to set up. Bug Buzz is STAB. Air Slash is STAB with a nice flinch chance that can come in handy... if you're lucky. Ice Beam, Energy Ball, Scald, and Shadow Ball are all coverage. I don't really recommend Shadow Ball, but I included it anyway. Don't ask me why. Quiver Dance is for setting up.

Chapter 7
This is Magnus’ divine punishment for not being able to surf
Casey again. It’s a long story. So we decided to go to Akala island with Mantine Surf. The beach was beautiful, with glistening blue water, calm tan sand, and a warm sun shining down on us. There was a lifeguard next to a sign that said:
   “Leaderboard: Melemele Mantine Surf Course”
    I approached him.
As if by telepathy, he seemed to know exactly what I wanted. “How many are going?” He asked.
“All 7 of us!” I replied cheerfully.
“Alright. You’re going to have to get your Ride Pokémon outfits on.”
Airika looked around. “We’re going to need some rentals. Casey and I have an outfit, but these five don’t.”
Blitz looked at Hearthstone and Magnus. “By any chance, could I NOT wear one?”
“No can do! It’s regulation and we have to.”
Hearth signed [Maybe sun is different here?]
Blitz did not look optimistic. “I doubt it. But I suppose we could try.” He took off his helmet.
After a few minutes of changing, we were all in standard Ride Pokémon outfits. And then we were off.
Skill level varied extremely between our friends. Airika did this a lot, so she was great, and fun to watch. I had done this before, but I was out of practice, and was just OK. Our friends from the sky, however, were not as good. Alex was the best of the five. She (yes, she had told me right before we left for the beach) was almost as good as me. Hearthstone was having trouble because of sound cues being almost a requirement. Blitz and Sam were doing badly, but not as badly as Magnus. Airika was fun to watch, so was Magnus. Just in a very different way. He was hitting every Corsola that was within a mile of his intended path. He fell off too many times to count, and was definitely not having fun.
Eventually we got to Akala. I ignored everything but the entrance to Lush Jungle, because I knew it was a hotspot for Pokémon, and somebody would get something here.
I threw Magnus a ball. “Here, have a reward for your great surfing skills.”
Magnus was unimpressed by my sarcasm, but stepped into the tall grass without a Pokémon, and when something popped out, he instinctively threw the Pokeball at it. Somehow, it caught.  He opened the ball to find out what he had caught. Inside was what he described as “A string of flowers with a face”.
      It was a Comfey.
Alex cackled with glee. “I’m going to have fun with this!” she said.
The way out was more interesting. I tripped on a tree root. My ankle hit the ground in a funny way, and I couldn’t move it for the pain. I yelped.
Magnus crouched to my level. “It’s broken.”
     “How-“
    “Just wait a minute.”
All of a sudden, the pain in my ankle faded. I flexed it, and it was completely normal.
Airika laughed. “Makes sense with the Comfey.
“No, it doesn’t! People don’t normally have talking swords! They can’t normally un-break people’s ankles!”
Magnus shrugged and pulled off his pendant.
As we had seen before, Jack came out. “Ooh, a jungle! Need me to cut down some trees for you?”
“No, but thank you. This is Lush Jungle and cutting down trees here’s just a little bit illegal.” I said.
“I just brought you out to say ‘hi’ while I explain everything.”
      “EVERYTHING everything?” Jack asked?
“No, more like just Everything Basic Plan.”
And so he did. He explained Norse mythology, and how it was real. How he was the SON of FREY.
Originally, I took that as fiction. I thought Jack was just a Zoroark-caused illusion, and Magnus healed me with some Comfey trick. But later, I kind of figured that to them, Pokémon might have been fiction. I dealt in the supernatural already, so what’s one more thing?
So that was that. Next up on my list of stops: Mount Hokulani.
