You want synergy. That means that if one Pokemo is weak to a certain type, other Pokemon can switch in and resist.

Ex: Scizor and Rotom-W. Scizor is weak to Fire, Rotom-W resists Fire. Rotom-W is weak to Grass, Scizor resists Grass.
