Im trying to get all the Pokemon wifi events for the 3ds xl but I keep an getting error codes I have my settings on wep and I have an ADSL2 router do I need to change it over for a wifi router to get the event Pokemon if so why I thought ADSL2 was better

If the events have passed, the Pokemon are no longer available. You can only obtain event Pokemon in the limited period they are released. If you miss it, you will have to trade for the Pokemon instead.

You say you have an ADSL2 router and you have the settings on WEP. That is your problem. You cannot connect to the internet because you need to put the settings in the ADSL2 part and not the WEP part of the connection settings. Because right now, it is not allowing you to access the internet due to having the wrong settings.
