Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

Is it possible to breed a second evolution of a Pokemon?

When I was looking for what certain incense was needed to breed baby Pokemon I sworn I came across this item that if it were held by a parent Pokemon while breeding it would breed the second evolution of a Pokemon. (If I breed a Emboar holding this item I would get a Pignite) Does such an item exist in Black 2? If it does then what is it?

No, there is no such item that I know of. The only way to breed a second evolution is if the first evolution requires an incense. For example, if you breed a Roserade without the Rose incense you will get a Roselia, which is the second evolutionary form. There is no item that lets Emboar breed a Pignite, however.

Well I was really hoping for an item like that. I wanted to hatch a Seadra (don't ask why) But I was just using Emboar as an example, since it was a third state of evolution. I guess i was reading something wrong while reading those things about incense. Thanks anyway :)

Ye s it is, but it is not caused by an item (that item doesn't exist), rather by the lack of an item, and only works on Pokemon who need an Incense to get the baby Pokemon, so it is not possible for a Pignite, ect to hatch from the egg.

For example, when you breed a Female Snorlax with the Full Incense as a held Item, then you will get a baby Munchlax. But if you don't let it hold the Full Incense, then the baby will be a Snorlax because the Incense is needed to get the first evolution.

Hope I cleared it up a little bit.
