With the Torchic event can I obtain it before the game starts or do I have to have already started the game?

Well you'd need somewhere to send the torchic... like it can't sit in the middle of cyberspace. Torchic's going to be all alone then :c, so you'd obviously need to have already started the game. The Torchic is obtained through Nintendo Network
