If you're talking about Diamond and Pearl try in and around Stark Mountain. It's chock-full of them!

He said crystal, not diamond/pearl! Look at the tag... If so, its to far to go to stark mountain. In platinum, there is ponyta in route 206 and 207 and houndour in route under veilstone city...
