Question

I am just starting a new game in Soul Silver and I am going to have a five Pokemon team with one HM slave instead of two as I normally do. I have a totodile, gabite, rotom, houdour, and a riolu. I would like to know which HMs to put on each pokemon and what HM slave I should have. please include the evolutions of those Pokemon in your answer.
I really appreciate your help.

I have a Sandslash that knows Cut, Rock Smash, Strength, and Rock Climb. He's my favorite Lv. 16 Pokemon that I have never used in battle.

Teach totodile,Croconaw, and Feraligatr surf or waterfall,teach your Gible, gabite, gachomp cut rock smash stregth or rock climb, Rotom can't be tought by any, Houdour, Houdoom can learn rock smash, and Riolu, lucario can learn strength and rock smash.

Waterfall is best for totodile, he will have a higher attack than special attack. If all your pokemon are fairly low level then a HM like Strength will be pretty good.

If you can get a Tropius (ie transferred from another game) then its a great HM slave. Teach it cut and fly, then whatever else you want. Also try Poliwhirl, you can get one fairly early and it learns a lot of HMs.

You can give totodile surf and waterfall because they are both good moves any way.
