Leftovers isn't as useful in Little cup since the pokemon have less health. The lower their health is, the lower % they recover from leftovers. Items like Sitrus berry do a nice job.
Oh no no, sitrus only recover 25% from your hp, and almost all of the little cup pokemon have around 20 (not fro munchlax and any epic health pokemon) so if you use sitrus you only get around 5 or 6 hp, and if you use oran, you'll get 10 health, around half of the pokemon's health...
Sitrus berry restores 30 HP, so that's an instant heal for most of them. Or has it changed again in gen V?
It did changed, it only recover 25% health and that really make me cried, btw DT, with which version does this contest played at? I mean like emerald, or red...
DT, Sitrus Berry only restored 30 HP in Gen III, taking the place of Gen II's Gold Berry. It was changed in Gen IV to become 25% of health is regained. If it was 30 HP, it would become a banned item like Berry Juice.
Thanks, I couldn't put that one together when zombozt said it changed. :p

Snivy

Suggested ability: Contrary
Suggested item: Oran berry/Evolite

Leaf Storm-Offers STAB; raises SP Atk thanks to ability, counters Poliwag

hidden power [Ground]-cover Magnemite, Chimchar, and Houndour.

twister-Has decent chance to flinch; deals with Dratini thanks to contrary boosting.

giga drain/ glare/ mean look/taunt-Giga Drain lets it recover health, but doesn't offer as much coverage due to you already having LS; Glare is there to cripple the opponent; Mean look traps the foe if needed, and taunt prevents them from setting up on you.

Other useful moves: Reflect, light screen, safeguard, swords dance+physical moves like pursuit, leech seed.

Snivy (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Contrary
EVs: 236 HP / 76 SAtk / 176 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Glare
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Giga Drain/Twister

Maxed Speed, and maxed HP, which provides respectable bulk along with Eviolite. Leaf Storm will quickly raise your Special Attack. Glare will quickly fix your Speed so you can take on Scarfs and Dancers with ease. HP Rock provides type coverage. Giga Drain provides healing while also giving you more PP, as Leaf Storm is lacking in that regard. However, Twister can be used to take down Dratini as DT said. This is only worth mentioning because Dratini is currently one of the most used Pokemon in LC.
