How is this Gen I Scyther?

4 votes

So my friends and I have been trying out a new style of battling. Ev training and Abilities are allowed, otherwise only gen I attributes. (moves, items, natures)

Anyways:

Scyther@ No Item

Evs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 Spd

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Swords Dance
  • Wing Attack
  • Double Edge
  • Skull Bash

All suggestions are welcome. Anything can be changed as long as it follows the rules above.

Gen I hold items???
duh XD
good but the double-edge can be trouble sometimes
Pickles, will you please stop answering questions with comments.
i really wanted a good moveset for Scyther!!!
Could you add a link to the Gen. I moveset?
I think that's a good moveset also remember in Gen I there weren't a lot of the counters and whatnot we have today so I think that's good. But I would personally put Slash instead of Double-Edge so there's no recoil but other hen that it's a good moveset I think.
I asked how to improve it. Not compliments. But thank you anyways. Please hide your answer.
Give it a Chesto Berry and replace Double Edge with Rest.
Gen 1, where you can't have hold items.
Okay ditch swords dance and give him agility he needs the extra speed sweeping can be a truly dominant force in gen 1 considering you're using adamant. Double edge is too much recoil replace with slash as it has a nice critical hit ratio.

Or

If you wanna keep swords dance change the 252 Def EVs into 4 EVs and 4 Speed EVs into 252 EVs considering you're going to have it boosted and neutralized with skull bash. With this EV spread use Jolly.

Hope it helped
FR=Fire red? Fire red was Gen III not I.
fixed it
He needs S-Dance. Who would choose Agility over S-Dance?

This is a great moveset for what it is. I might put on slash instead of double edge to get rid of recoil, but it's your choice. Like the comments said
you might want agility instead of s-dance, but again, it's your choice.
