Meta Battle Subway PokeBase - Pokemon Q&A

What is a good moveset for Seviper?

0 votes

I'm back and ready for more questions. My Seviper is EV trained in Attack. It knows:

Poison Tail: STAB, high accuracy, good chance for a critical hit and a chance of Poison.

Crunch: Good power, high accuracy, decent chance to lower Def, used to deal with Psychic types.

Aqua Tail: Good power, decent accuracy, used to deal with Ground types.

Glare: Used to parlyze the foe.

Replace HP Dark with Dark Pulse.

Instead of poison Tail, I like poison fang, because it gives the opponet bad poison. But if you like poison tail, that works also. Crunch is good. Aqua Tail is good too(breeding, again!?). Glare can be replaced. How about X-Scizzor? Its a pretty good backup against psychic moves then again, you already have Crunch. Iron Tail might be good too, along with earthquake. Its up to you!

Nope, move tutor. I love that guy. Iron Tail is a nice replacement for Glare.
Cool.:):):):)(dang 12 characters!)

Crunch-Keep this for dealing with Psychic types.Or try TM Dark Pulse.

Poison Tail\Poison Jab-Might Poison the foe.

Toxic-Badly Poisons.Nothing more annoying than being Badly Poisoned.

Aqua tail-Keep it for dealing with Ground types.

Maybe instead of Toxic you could have another Poison type move.
Try Poison Fang,(Bad Poison?)

Seviper w/ Leftovers
Careful nature
200 HP, 56 Defense, 252 Special Defense.
Ability - Shed Skin

Aqua Tail
Sucker Punch

Coil boosts his attacking power ( All moves support ) his defense, ( Enough EVs to make his boosts worth while ) and Accuracy ( Aqua Tail is now great Ground coverage. )

Aqua Tail gets an accuracy boost from Coil, making it great coverage.

Sucker Punch brings in boosting and priority, which is always nice to have.

Rest is WAY shortened due to Shed Skin, so I have healing! :D

Seviper @ Life Orb

Trait: Shed Skin

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)

  • Poison Jab
  • Earthquake
  • Sucker Punch
  • Aqua Tail

Poison Jab is STAB with decent power.
Earthquake rounds out the coverage nicely by hitting Rock-, Poison- and Ground-types that resists Poison Jab.
Sucker Punch hits Ghosts like Misdreavus who would wall this set, without Sucker Punch.
It also gives Seviper an excellent priority move to use.
Aqua Tail hits Ground types like Golem and Camerupt for massive damage.
If there's a certain threat Seviper should outpseed, Jolly is an alternative.

Its kind of gimmickly but its a set you can use for doubles triples in something with trick room or straighly in trick room team, your choise.

Seviper black slugde (leftovers depend of your team)
Trait: Infiltrator
Evs: 252 HP /252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

Final Gambit
Poison Jab
Earthquake/Knock off/Aqua Tail

The idea its get a final shot in something big, you can protect for trick room to make its easily.
If you can kill someting with STAB go agead and smash it. The final slot its coverage, knock off for psiquics, aqua tail in ground and EQ its to hit super effective hits in common counters like steel or poison.
You can try this set in the speacial side with moves like sludge bomb and giga drain, dark pulse or flamethrower for coverage, all in a modest way.

I got three sweeping sets.

Role: specially defensive physical sweeper

ability: Both are good so doesn't matter to me.

EVs: 252atk, 248sp def,8hp

Nature: Adamant

item: Assault vest

Poison jab: stab and 30% chance to poison

aqua tail: coverage against ground types

Sucker punch/x-scissor/crunch/night slash/knock off: Sucker punch is priority if your opponent plans to use an attack, X-scissor provides extra coverage against dark types, Crunch has 20% chance to lower defense, night slash has high crit ratio, and knock off deals double damage to those who have a held item and gets rid of held item after attack. All cover psychic types.

earthquake: Coverage against steel types and rock types

Role: Bulky physical sweeper

Ability: doesn't matter

Evs: 252 atk, 252 hp/252 def, 4 speed

Nature: Adamant

Item: black sludge

Poison jab

aqua tail

coil: Raises attack, defense, and accuracy all by one stage.

Iron tail/earthquake/x-scissor/sucker punch/knock off/crunch/night slash

Role: specially defensive special sweeper

Ability: Inconsequential (not important)

EVs: 252sp atk, 248 sp def, 8hp/speed

Nature: Modest

Item: Assault vest

sludge bomb/sludge wave: Sludge bomb for better chance to poison or sludge wave for slightly higher power.

Giga drain: Steals hp from foe. Coverage against ground and rock types.

Dark pulse: 20% chance to flinch. Coverage against psychics

Flamethrower: 10% chance to burn target, Coverage against steel types.

Overall seviper isn't exactly a good Pokemon competitively but he does do pretty good in NU tier.
