1.By checking it's EV's and Stats.
2.By making sure it's moves can be learned.
3.Sometimes its Exp. Points can be over the limit.
4.Sometimes one of it's Move PP can be over it's Max PP.
5.Check it's Status/Info on the Summary.

thats all? Isn't there more? Oh well. Good enough for me since i don't know. You could also check where the pokemon was found and what level. Like a pikachu found at route 7 met at level 100.
