Question

Okays, so we is a community right? Why don't we do the PokemonDB Awards?
The Awards, Overview:
I do predict some criticism, who doesn't? People getting angry because they didn't win an award, people getting angry for no one voting for them etc. Here's what I propoe to do:

• Make the voting anonymous, by posting an answer saying why you voted for them, then hide so a Moderator can see who you voted for.
• Recruit 4 users to nominate users for each category, they must be experienced users so they make wise choices.
• If anyone is a sore loser, something should be done. Just because you didn't win it doesn't matter. This isn't for who is better than who, it's who's work should be commemorated.

Now, this should be as fair as I can make it, but the 4 experienced users must chose honestly for each category. These are:
Best Non Expert
Best RMT user
Best Meta User
Connective User (friendly on chat)
Best Pokebase user
Best Expert
Best Editor
There will be 2 winners for each category.
So yah, I probably think this will get hate, but I'm tried to make the soul idea as fair as it can be.

well its would be a okay idea, but every would be voting for the exact same people every time. I say about 5-10 people would be picked all the time, like Trachy,DT,Mew :3, Mike,Josh etc.

I like the idea, but I feel like it would cause more controversy than good, just because I know someone will be upset if he doesn't get an award and so on.

I think it can be fun. If people are sore losers, they can get a 5 min ban. No big diff. It'll make some users feel really proud about themselves. Upvoted. :)

I don't really think they need awards. They are probably going to be the people who nominate, one of them might host, and they are already very well respected users. It's a little bit unfair, but it's kinda true

@Poke'slash: 4 users who have been on the site for a while will chose who is nominated for each category. Then out of the 4 people who are nominated, we vote.

Funniest moments award: (Screenshot a funny moment that happened during a Pokemon battle, for example: Last Pokemon standing for both opponents, the guy uses his last move and dies of recoil while the target is left with 1% is asleep.). Does that ring a bell, Kyron and Mew? xD

I really like this idea! Upvoted! IMO, it should be updated every two months, and there should be more awards than that. The rules seem fair and the idea is great! I'm definitly for this one!

Jcm does have a good idea but it would stay mostly the same so may e make it most active battler, let's face it hex isn't active and he would win both ubers and ou every time.

Here is my opinion on the matter: While I understand that this idea was meant to be a nice idea to make some users feel great about themselves, I believe it will, unfortunately, cause more harm than good. I have been on this site for a while and I know that people get offended easily. And no we can not just ban all the sore losers(Ok we CAN but we won't). Some people may not outwardly express their disappointment but it will cause them to be upset on the inside and thus more touchy in the chat room. All in all it will increase drama. Sorry Kingdra, I think we all appreciate what you are trying to do here, but this will not work.

I understand. But people can't win everything, so I see no reason why they would be very sad. The nominations will not be bias, we will make sure of that, neither will the voting, we'll make sure of that too.

It would work just like a tournement in a way and if someone doesn't like loosing they shouldn't enter.

I am sorry blob but honestly I can see more drama coming from this than good. It is sad, but from my experience that is what will happen.
