It helps people know that they are unresolved because they might not notice the tag or in some cases if the question has an answer but it is unresolved then people would just look that it has an answer then move on.

But, when someone answeres the question tagged unresolved, then it wouldn't make sense, since it has already been answered. Lets just hope they look at the question instead of pass it.
