PokeBase Meta Battle Subway - RMT

KNIGHTs of the White Stallion

My tournament team. Well, at least how it was at the end. I changed up some things to fit each battler. It was a solid team, beating JCM (tournament team as well as an actual OU Rain team) and almost beating Dr. Flame, if not for a game breaking paralysis secondary effect and a missed attack. It still did me proud, even for a fairly gimmicky team.

Genesect @ Choice Scarf
image
Trait: Download
EVs: 72 Atk / 252 SAtk / 184 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- U-turn
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower

I got lucky and had a word with "G" in it. Genesect can U-Turn out of a bad situation or just plain out kill the foe. Thunder is my Politoed killer. Flame had the letter "P" (as did JCM and Riles if that was going to be) so I knew there was a very good chance these guys were going to use Rain. Ice Beam is just coverage. FLamethrower is also coverage, although the Sun boost it can gain is very nice. Speed EVs gave me enough Speed to outspeed a Scarfed Lucario. If Genesect lost its Scarf, it could also have outspeed a 306 Lucario.

Ninetales (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Drought
EVs: 144 HP / 252 SAtk / 112 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- SolarBeam
- Sunny Day
- Fire Blast
- Substitute

The weather war winner Ninetales. Due to my lack of knowledge about weather war, this guy is an ideaa I got from smogon's Sun article. A bit changed up to suit my purposes (the adding of Substitute). I would use Substitute on a predicted switch. Since most people will expect an Energy Ball to hit them on the switch, they might not switch to their weather guy. If they do, I can use Sunny Day the next turn. Then I can outspeed (by two speed points at least) and 2HKO standard Politoed with Solarbeam. And it takes a 3HKO after Substitute to KO Ninetales. So I win against standard Politoed.

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 56 SAtk / 200 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Overheat
- Grass Knot
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Overheat has good power in the Sun and Grass Knot gives me an extra tool gto take down Water types. Close Combat STAB, Stone Edge coverage. Enough Speed EVs to outspeed a Landorus not using Scarf, so I could get in a needed Overheat if need be.

Kingdra (F) @ Chesto Berry

Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Waterfall

Yeah, when expecting Rain, bring out the Kingdra. Chesto-Rest to provide me with status healing and health healing. Allows me to set up Dragon Dances and then sweep with Outrage or Waterfall. Speed EVs outspeed Scarfed Landorus in Rain.

Hydreigon (M) @ Expert Belt

Trait: Levitate
EVs: 24 HP / 252 SAtk / 232 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Fire Blast
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse

Dragon type. Fire Blast gets boosted in Sun, Surf in Rain. Draco and Dark Pulse for STAB. Expert Belt adds on power and allows me to fake a Choice. Speed EVs allow me to outspeed 289 Electivire.

Tangrowth (F) @ Life Orb

Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 8 SAtk / 248 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Power Whip
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Earthquake
- Growth

Sweeping in Sun, as well as Politoed killer. Power Whip STAB, HP FIre Sun boosted coverage, Earthquake coverage. Growth a boosting move. Speed allows me to outspeed Scarf Politoed when I'm in Sun.

What? G=/=K...
It's in a different order xD
Genesects only weakness in sun 0.0
Would have been KOd by a Fire type attack anyways. And I'm not going to be stupid enough to stay in on a Fire attack (unless of course Genesect has served its purpose and I would sacrfice it instead of having the rest of my team take damage.) Plus, as I said, I predicted Rain teams, which doesn't usually lead to the use of Fire type attacks.
true. :w
