PokeBase Meta Battle Subway - RMT

We are so neglected it's criminal. (NU)

Introduction: Hey, guys, it's me, JCM, with another RMT. It's been a while that I haven't played NU, as I was busy with my Ubers and UU teams. When I came back to play, I realized that the Metagame didn't change that much. Another thing I realized was how much I went with the standard Pokemon, and not thinking outside the box. That is exactly what I did with this team. I thought outside of the box.

The team:

Gothorita

Gothorita (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rest
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Future Sight

The weirdest Gothorita set that I fetched from Smogon from another Québécois called Sweet Jesus. With Eviolite and maxed out SDef, this gal can tank Special hits all day. She takes out Gurdurr and Sawk with ease. Calm Mind boosts my SDef to great levels. Psychic is STAB, and can hit hard at +1, or even without a boost. I know that many people will be like ''Future Sight sucks''. No, it doesn't. The guy can accumulate damage, even if I switch. It's STAB, and wow, it hits hard. Rest is her only method of recovery, and once I have a couple of CM's under my belt... The opponent won't be able to hurt me much. I use Gothorita as a wall killer, as I can successfully trap every wall in NU and start using CM on them. With Rest recovering my health while getting rid of annoying Status, I can win stall wars easily against Alomomola, Lickilicky and Amoonguss. Especially Amoonguss.

Golem

Golem (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Sucker Punch

Yep, he's the only guy on my team who is not underrated. His dual STABs are extremely useful to my team. Stealth Rock is very useful to my team. As my team's offense is weaker than normal (Gurdurr, Musharna, Sawk, etc). Earthquake is very powerful STAB, while Rock Blast completes the EdgeQuake coverage. It is used over Stone Edge because it can break through Substitutes. Sucker Punch is very useful priority, and can finish off weakened foes.

Rotom-F

Rotom-F @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick
- Thunderbolt

Yes, Rotom-F. The best Pokemon in the world. xD. This thing is not your everyday freezer, as with Specs and Modest, he reaches a phenomenal 508 SAtk. As an added bonus, he even has STAB on the fearful BoltBeam combination, which only Magnemite resists in NU (Curse you!) xD. Volt Switch provides me some momentum, and I can spam it at the beginning of the game to gain just that. HP Ice is better than Blizzard as it's guaranteed a hit (without Accuracy modifiers, of course) and can hit hard, despite that base power. Trick has the very obvious role of screwing walls, even though Gothorita screws them up. Thunderbolt is very strong STAB, and is perfect for if I want to stay in and sweep. Rotom-F still has decent Speed without a Scarf, and he's able to outspeed a lot in the current metagame.

Golbat

Golbat (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Super Fang

Golbat, Golbat, Golbat. This guy is a Defensive monster. He has phenomenal Defenses with Eviolite, and has very nice Speed. Taunt can easily shut down any Staller in NU, combined with his high Speed, which makes him an effective stallbreaker. Roost is very reliable recovery, and gets rid of all his weaknesses apart from Psychic. Brave Bird is pretty hard-hitting STAB and can be used as an emergency attack, especially when I switch into some Fighting types, mainly Superpower Emboar. Super Fang is the second thing that makes him a great stallbreaker. Wish + Protect users are pretty common in NU, such as Alomomola and Lickilicky. With Super Fang, he can make those two turns useless.

Scraggy

Scraggy (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Bulk Up
- Payback
- Drain Punch

By far the oddest member of my team, Scraggy has the merit of usually being the last man, or in this case, Pokemon, standing, with Golem.

Octillery

Octillery (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Sniper
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Surf
- Energy Ball
- Fire Blast

WILL EDIT DESCRIPTIONS LATER. Also, if you rate, don't give any Pokemon that are used a lot. And I cut out some stuff for the very annoying 8000 characters limit.

Posting teambuilding process here, as I don't have any place left:

Teambuilding process:

I always wanted to try Gothitelle, but with his fast banning, I never had the time. I wanted something to shut down Weezing, and a Special Wall. I chose Gothorita as my starting point.

Gothorita

I needed something to make a good Defensive core with it, and something that wasn't used much. The first thing that came to my mind was Golbat who had phenomenal Defenses with Eviolite.

Gothorita Golbat

I always loved Psychic-Fighting-Dark cores, like Musharna-Gurdurr-Skuntank. I then chose another Pokemon that by himself, could complete that core and he was somebody I wanted to try since quite a while. Scraggy.

Gothorita Golbat Scraggy

My team was seriously missing some sheer power. I then chose another Pokemon that I loved and trusted, and has been used in my two previous teams (I didn't post them yet). Rotom-F.

Rotom-F was a good Special Attacker, but I needed another good SAttacker. And I needed something to resist to Water and Ice attacks. I then chose, with the help of Faked Thrower, Octillery, who could fire extremely powerful Water Spouts.

My team was looking nice, but was missing Stealth Rock and a decent Physical Attacker. Even though I wanted to think outside of the box, I needed somebody who was good, so I chose Golem.

Yep, that's my team.
