Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

• Hidden Power [Ice]
• Surf / Focus Blast
• Scald
• Secret Sword

This is my well known Keldeo set I used before his release. Hidden Power gets coverage. Focus Blast is STAB plus takes out those god damn Ferrothorn. Scald is STAB, plus the burn chance is nice. Secret Sword = STAB + Forme change. Keldeo takes so many hits with those EVs. Trust me.

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

• Ice Beam

• Focus Blast

482 SAtk is baws. I win.

Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Sheer Force

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

• Earth Power
• Ice Beam
• Thunderbolt
• Flamethrower

Life Orb sweeper. Earth Power is STAB. Ice Beam provides great coverage. Thunderbolt slaps on BoltBeam. Flamethrower also provides coverage, and I believe has a canceled burn chance into Sheer Force.

Alomomola @ Leftovers

Trait: Regenerator

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef

Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)

• Toxic
• Protect
• Wish
• Surf

Alo is used for such a great reason. Toxic provides stall. Protect counters huge threats. Wish heals up. Surf is a Taunt blocker and STAB.

Leftovers. Why not? xD Regenerator is so amazing, especially with the Wish switch. EVs are fairly similar to a Blissey, Alomomola is just Blissey V.4. (Others being Chansey and Audino) Calm Nature increases my Special Defense, adding more fuel to the Wall.

Trait: Wonder Guard

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd

Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)

• Swords Dance
• Protect
• X-Scissor
• Shadow Claw

Of course I would run him. If in the right battle, I cannot lose. Swords Dance provides set up. Protect saves me. X-Scissor is lovely STAB. Shadow Claw is also STAB.

I ran the EVs as they should be for all Shedinja. Wonder Guard is what makes him. Nature does its thing. Lum Berry protects me from status killer.

Why would Keldeo need hidden power for coverage? My suggestion would be X-Scissor, which would provide counter to grass and psychic type pokemon.

Stupid me. Although it depends. You may want to switch because X-Scissor might be more powerful. I would switch but only because I don't like hidden power. I really like X-Scissor. Base power of 80, Accuracy 100, Awesome!!

Nidoking has a brilliant special move pool and Sheer Force to compliment it. Not only is the coverage his set provides brilliant but can't be done if he ran a physical set. He would need to completely change his entire set and spread if he was going by your logic, but then though it could work you are missing out on coverage and sheer force boosts. A special Nidoking is much better than a physical.
