1v1 Tournament Teams

I love seeing tournament teams. But with one Pokemon, it doesn't work very well and there will just be a bunch of questions. So I had the idea to have this question. Answer with your Pokemon. People can comment for advice on it.

After you lose (or become tournament champion) of course. :P

This is for people who are actually in the tournament.

Wait, do we get advice after the tourney, or do we not post at all until after the tourney?
Sorry for the noobish question.
You post for advice anytime you want, but I'm saying that you should post after you've lost just so your opponent doesn't see your Pokemon and counter it.

Although I really don't care. :P

That is never going to work lol You would need an extra move to wear it down and even then physical attackers still screw you over. Then we have scarfers :D
Mail blissey with toxic will also ruin it....
who runs mail on blissey >.>
Blissey @ Heart Mail
Nature: Bold
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
- Toxic
- Counter
- Rest
- Protect

Smogon does

don't see why people would steal smogon sets but whatever. You know everything.
While that is for DPP, it's a very good set in 1 vs 1.
There will always be a Pokemon who completely beats you in 1v1. You can't prepare for every threat, and since this is a database tournament, not smogon battling, you don't have to prepare as much for the main 1v1 Pokemon.
But if you know the threats and counters, you can almost always prepare for that.

Darmanitan @ Focus Sash(used to be Expert Belt)
Trait: Sheer Force
Nature: Adamant
252 Atk, 248 Spd, 8 HP
Fire Punch
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Superpower

OK, so, Blob's Poke got a one hit KO on me, so I have changed the item to Focus Sash.
Fire Punch and Rock Slide get the Sheer Force boost, and the other moves are for coverage.

You could've changed to life orb(no recoil with sheer force) or focus band(good in 1vs1 with all attacking moves) but focus sash looks good. What is its nature?
Ooo! forgot to add Nature, sorry! I edited.

Second Place Pokemon

Whimsicott? (Weavile) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Ice Punch
- Night Slash
- Low Kick

Yeah, I was less than honest. :P
That of course was what I did in the first tournament we had. I was battling everybody left and right with this incredibly powerful team with Whimsicott on it. Whimsicott was the bane of everybody's existense. But when the tournament came I used a different team. So there's the backstory behind my deceit. The moral is to never trust trachy.

This thing was great in the tournament. Easy to see why, as its build is perfect for this kind of thing. Can outrun pretty much everything that doesn't have a Scarf and has a high attack. Fake Out breaks Sashes. Ice Punch and Night Slash give nice STAB, Ice Punch is good against Dragons while Night Slash takes down the Ghosties that are immune to Fake Out. Low Kick is coverage and was my main attack, taking down stuff like Terrakion.

Of course, I ended up matched in the Finals to one of the few Pokemon that can perfectly counter Weavile. Cloyster could Blast through my Sash with a Super-Effective hit. And it had more than enough bulk to survive Low Kick.

Gengar @ Ghost Gem
enter image description here
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Disable
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

Well, my logic for using SubDisable Gengar is that if I am able to shut down the opponent's main attack, they'll have a harder time killing me. Gengar has amazing SAtk, and ispretty fast on top of that, so he should be able to do his thing with Substitute and Disable, Sub also allowing him to evade any status users. Focus Blast and Shadow Ball get really nice coverage, and Gengar's Ghost Gem boosts his STAB move to specs power, and I was anticipating that I would only need to get one or two hits in, and a specs power Shadow Ball would be able to do a lot of damage, but I didn't even get a chance to move. What happened, you ask? Weavile happened ;~;
