Mono Bug team (Gen 4)

Me and my friend are having a mono bug battle, have any suggestions for my team?


Ninjask @ Bug plate
Trait: speed boost
Nature: Jolly(+ spd -spatk)
Evs: 4 hp / 252 atk / 252 spd
Baton pass
Protect
Swords dance
X-Scissor

My baton passer. Protect is to stall for speed boost, while sword dance is also for passing to scizor or heracross.


Shedinja @ focus sash
Trait: Wonder guard
Nature: Jolly (- spatk + spd)
Evs: 252 spd / 252 atk
Protect
Endure
Shadow sneak
Confuse ray

Focus sash allows it to take a hit while setting up confusion, while bug type moves have no effect, and shadow sneak is for priority KO when the opponent's health is is low from confusion.


Shuckle @ lum berry
Trait: sturdy
Nature: Bold (- atk + def)
Evs: 128 def / 128 spdef / 252 hp
Rest
Toxic
Encore
Gastro acid

Different Ev spread from the average shuckle, and a different moveset! Gastro acid is for crippling the opponent , especially when he has speed boost or techincian, while Encore is for Baton passing ninjasks. The Usual toxic and rest + lum berry is on my shuckle.


Scizor @ Steel plate
Trait: Techincian
Nature: Adamant (- spatk + atk)
Evs: 128 def / 128 sdef / 252 atk
Bullet punch
X-scissor
Aerial ace
Night slash

Technician + Bullet punch + steel plate = awesomeness! iron head is to KO the oh-so common shuckle, while Night slash is for shedinjas


Yanmega @ choice specs
Trait: speed boost
Nature: Modest (- atk + spatk)
Evs: 252 spd /252 spatk / 4 hp
HP fire
Bug buzz
Air slash
Shadow ball

Choice specs is for me to choice into Hp fire, or into air slash. With speed boost, i get faster every turn, and the 252 speed Ev is for me to outspeed other Yanmegas.( but i'll get outspeeded by scythers and scarfed yanmegas)


Heracross @ Flame Orb
Trait: Guts
Nature: Adamant (- spatk + atk)
Evs: 252 spd / 4def / 252 atk
Stone edge
Aerial ace
Brick break
E-quake

The classic Flame orb + guts combo. Stone edge is for those pesky Vespiquens and the likes, while aerial ace is is to KO other Heracrosses(unless their scarfed), Brick break and E-quake is to make Forretress manageable.


BTW,I have a forretress but i can't decide who to replace!

Nature: Careful (- spatk + spdef)
Evs: 252 spdef / 252 atk / 4 def
Explosion / rapid spin
Stealth rock

Toxic spikes

No Focus Sash? You know what that means!
252 Speed Ev's really are being wasted here, 160 base speed along with Protect and Speed boost just make it too easy to out speed anything you need to.

Give it 128 Def, 128 Sp Def, 252 Atk, or 252 Hp, 252 Atk, 4 Def.
Jolly nature could also be replaced for a defense raising nature, or Adamant.


Shedinja

Use Shadow Claw instead of Shadow Sneak, Ninjask should probably be Baton passing him speed anyway, and you might also want to consider Adamant on him. Replace Protect ( Useless on him ) with Swords Dance.


Shuckle

Replace him with your Forretress.
Also, instead of Toxic Spikes, I would run Gyro Ball on Forretress.


Scizor

Looks great. Although a " Sky Plate " ( I think it's called that ) might would work better, I have the feeling that your Aerial Ace is going to be getting a work out. And switch X-scissor for Bug Bite.


Yanmega

Looks great.


Heracross

Replace Aerial Ace with Substitute or Protect ( Prefferably Substitute ) to activate your Flame Orb, Stone Edge is enough :]
