Rate my Mono-Electric team to defeat Pokenubz!

I need help to defeat the 3rd Gym Leader, who is also my tutor. He will be using Grass types, so he has the type advantage since Grass resists to Electric.

Rotom-H

Rotom-H @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spd/ 4 SDef
Timid Nature (+Spd,-Atk)

  • Overheat
  • Volt Switch
  • Hidden Power Ice
  • Trick

Ok, i chose Specs because i needed the extra-power. Overheat will destroy his puny Grass types while Volt Switch is for switching. No need for coverage so i went with HP Ice. Why? Because i'm sure he will be using Torterra, who can KO my Electric types with Earthquake. HP Ice will destroy him and his other fellow Grass types who resist to Overheat. Trick is to screw up walls such as Tangrowth.

Electivire

Electivire @ Expert Belt
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 224 Spd/ 144 Atk/ 144 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spe,-SDef)

  • Thunderbolt
  • Flamethrower
  • Ice Punch
  • Earthquake

Electivire is holding Expert Belt so Flamethrower can do more damage. Thunderbolt is STAB and Flamethrower is for those Grass types. Ice Punch is for the Grass types that resist Flamethrower and Earthquake does neutral damage on Roserade. He is a counter to Breloom as he resists Spore with Vital Spirit.

Thundurus-T

Thundurus-T @ Life Orb
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spd/ 4 HP
Timid Nature (+Spd,-Atk)

  • Agility
  • Thunderbolt
  • Hidden Power Flying
  • Focus Blast

I am disappointed because this guy has Flying STAB but doesn't have any good Flying moves. That would've helped me grandly. Though Fly could be considered, since it's a Mono-type Gym. Even if he switches, he will always have someone who is part-Grass type, doing neutral damage or super-effective damage. The problem is that Fly is physical and that Thundurus-T lacks of Special Flying moves. One Agility and Thundurus-T will outspeed almost everybody. Thunderbolt is decent STAB and HP Flying is STAB and is for those Grass types. Focus Blast is coverage against Rock and Ice types.

Magnezone

Magnezone @ Air Balloon
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SAtk/ 220 Spd/ 36 HP
Timid Nature (+Spd,-Atk)

  • Substitute
  • Thunderbolt
  • Hidden Power Fire
  • Charge Beam

Magnezone can resist to so many attacks and cannot be poisoned. That is why he is here. Substitute + Charge Beam is a good combo, raising Magnezone's Special Attack. Thunderbolt is STAB and HP Fire hits Ferrothorn and the others real hard.

Zebstrika

Zebstrika @ Choice Band
Trait: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk,-SAtk)

  • Wild Charge
  • Flame Charge
  • Pursuit
  • Double Kick

Ok, this is a very unusual moveset. But Sap Sipper raises his Attack and absorbs those Grass attacks. Wild Charge is STAB and Flame Charge hits Grass types for super-effective damage and Pursuit is for those who want to escape from Zebstrika's reign of terror. Double Kick is just a filler.

Eelektross

Zapdos @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spd/ 4 Def
Timid Nature (+Spd,-Atk)

  • Thunderbolt
  • Heat Wave
  • Hidden Power Ice
  • Roost

Last Pokemon. Same typing as Thundurus-T. Pressure instead of Lightningrod because Kyron will never use any Electric moves on my team. Thunderbolt is STAB and Heat Wave hits those puny Grass types hard. HP Ice is for Torterra and those who resist Heat Wave. Roost is for healing.

Hope you guys like my team! I accept any kind of good advice.

As for Electivire, An Expert Belt boost STAB attacks only, so only Thunderbolt would be boosted because of his Electric typing.
Hey nice mono-type team by the way. I LOVE mono-type Teams!
Oh, thanks :D
expert belt raise super effective attacks i thought?
Exactly. Flamethrower on Grass types..... Expert Belt activates.
Erickhill is wrong, the expert belt increases the power of the user's moves that are super effective against the target by 20%.
I would suggest not using your STAB Electric attacks. The only things that don't resist them are Ludicolo, Tropius, and The Jumpluff family. And these guys take more damage from either Flying and Bug for Ludicolo, Fire and Ice for Tropius and Jumpluff, and Poison for all. Also, none of these guys are that big a threat. The only one he'll be likely to use is Jumpluff for Sun, and even then probably not because of Whimsicott being superior.

You'll be better off using coverage or support moves.
Why no Galvantula? Surely it would be an obvious choice. Also, what about a Rotom-C with Signal Beam? (I predict you'll need a pokemon immune to leech seed)

Okay so ive never played monotype but i can see straight away your team is great, there are a few problems but they are easly solved.

First off some points to think about is that though he may be able to resist you that doesnt mean he has an advantage.
You have moves that can hit grass types super effectivly, Kyron may carry earthquake but thats easy to get around thanks to 3 pokemon avalible to switch in to.

Think of what to expect from him, this is a grass team what do most grass types benefit from?
Sun.
Not many grass types can resist a fire attack and for that reason i suggest switching Rotom-H to a scarfer, this will allow it to stay for the duration of the battle as well as outspeed some slow clorophyl users or the quik grass types.

You have a problem with rocks, only one pokemon doesnt take the damage hard so a speedy pokemon capable of being able to ko a Torterra is ideal.
No electric types can spin and there are some bulky pokemon in the grass criteria such as Celebi who can cleric your team making your job allot harder.

Rotom-H
Okay no sets on smogon recomend using flamethrower but because this play style is differant and you have the type advantage you will want to stay in for the duration of the battle right?
So i recomend Scarf and Flamethrower over specs and Overheat.
This may allow you to sweep, you have two moves that can possibly ko half of his team so this guy is your powerhouse which you will need to keep alive.
Also use modest.

Electrivire
Okay so expert belt is a common item for this guy but you have two moves that are likely going to be effective so a 20% boost is a bit of a waste right, you can use his neutral and stab attacks if needed but will they land a ko with no added boosts.
30% extra damage will rip teams appart so go life orb.
Also try Wild Charge over Thunderbolt, that will do serious damage.
I would also lower the amount of SAtk evs because flamethrower will hit pokemon like Ferrothorn with no added damage but allot of the grass pokemon have special bulk so ice punch may be your main move.
Also you may want to try Adamant as not many pokemon have the same speed stat its usually higher or lower so the extra boost isnt always needed.
Also this would be another risk but T-Wave will be a good counter to his sweepers seen as earthquake wont be needed.

Thundurus
Okay so this guy is just adding another sr weakness as well as a 5th sweeper who doesnt provide much coverage so seen as your team is quite frail this pokemon will fir right in and serve as a cleric and dual screener.

@Light Clay
Static
Bold Nature
252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 SDef
-Light Screen
-Reflect
-Toxic
-Heal Bell
Heal bell will cleric your team of those nasty status pokemon such as amoongus may infect you with.
Toxic wears down the non Poison/Steel types and the dual screens allow pokemon like electrivire to not be ohko'd by the weakest of attacks.

Magnezone
Looks good for standard set but remember this is monotype why have two stab electric attacks?
But unfortunatly his movepool isnt built for monotype so his best moves consit of steel and electric :(
You could try protect to stall with toxic, magnet rise and probably the best option of explosion.

Zebstrika
Is great set Flame charge will be very usefull and must do some nice damage with super effective damage and max attack.

Zapdos
Perfect, the exact set i use.

Ok i relise some of the suggestions i have made like t-wave on electrivire which isnt recomended (just worth the try) are a bit ambitious but Amphardos is needed with his support you have such a frail team but a good one to add.

Thanks, Blob. Great advice you got there.
Rotom-H can't learn Flamethrower.
Which is why no smogon sets recommend it.
.... my bad overheat it is then lol
Scarf is still my recomended choice still as virizion and others wreck this guy.
