there are no items because i dont know what any of the items do
 and does it matter if my team is uber or not

I think you should do some research before you post. We were all noobs,including me, at one point, so dont take it too hard.

What to Reaserch:

1) Tiers (VERY important for competative battilng)

2) EVs (Also VERY important for competative battilng)

3) Items (Again,important)

4) Natures (Only Qwilfish's & Ferrothorn's natures are good.)

5) Movesets

i think you should take out avalanche because Weavile is already good with ice punch, and avalanche isnt as useful when combined with weaviles speed stat
