There are many Pokemons similar to each other and have connection on a way. Electivire and Magmortar looks like each other (body shape), and they both evolve on the same way. They're pretty similar. I can't see a connection between Houndoom and Luxray, other than their body shape. Other Pokemons could be eg. be Lunatone and Solrock.
