Likely tier: Uber
This guy is going to be one of the most important Pokemon in the metagame.
It's UU! Lol (filler).
Just wait till SHadow Tag chandy is released. Then it will move to its rightful home.
^ He mean OU right?
Moves that work well...

Fire Blast
Flamethrower
Energy Ball
Shadow Ball
Willow Wisp (if it doesn't have flame body)
Hidden Power (Fighting)
Overheat
Toxic
Psychic
Spite (Really strong moves usually have 5-10 pp)

With high stats all around where it is important, plus a great ability, this guy is a great Pokemon.

Ability: Shadow Tag

EVs: Sp Attack, Sp Def, Speed Nature: Modest

Will-o-wisp/Toxic: Will-o-wisp makes it a better defender while Toxic is better at taing down foes.

Evil Eye: Because the foe is either burned or poisoned, this STAB move will recieve "much damage."

Flamethrower: Obvious.

Energy Ball: Provides type coverage.

hmm i dont think this would be such a good idea.. its better to go with energy ball , shadowball , flamethrower and hiddenpower(fighting)/psychic
Evil Eye is not a real move. And, you cannot have a Chandelure with Shadow Tag quite yet.
Evil Eye was the known name of the move Hex at the time this was answered. And as for the second, it's called PO.
LIKE IT
Terrible move set. This would get wiped out in 2 seconds in the X and Y meta game. Flame Body would be much better, thus enabling Toxic use for Blissey.
Ok not that good flamethrower and evil eye arn't the best choices but good choice with energy ball and will-o-whisp/toxic I didn't even think of toxic with my answer (But I won't copy by editing my answer and adding toxic in it)

Chandelure (F) @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Shadow Tag

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 248 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Energy Ball
  • Flamethrower
  • Shadow Ball
  • Hidden Power [Fighting]

Nice revenge killer set, I was about about to post the same one, almost didn't see this LoL
Not afraid of Heatran?
eh, i have other things to take care of heatran with.
i get to finish off someone before heatran comes in, and when it does i can't switch move anyway.
i like the coverage against fighting types.

Chandelure (F) @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Shadow Tag

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Shadow Ball
  • Fire Blast
  • Energy Ball
  • Hidden Power Ice

I've been using Chandelure for a long time and still am, And this is probably the best one IMO.

The King of Ghosts has Spoken.
Why hidden power ice? HP Fighting is  better surely?
No, Hidden Power Ice has good use in OU against Gliscor, Landorus, Dragonite etc...
I wish I could use this on PS....unfortunately, Shadow Tag Chandy is banned currently :(

Shanderaa is now the highest Special Attacker in the games, beating Alakazam. I think I would go for an all-out fast sweeper.

Ability: Flame Body
EVs: Special Attack to the max!! Then max Speed too for sweeping. Perhaps a little in HP to boost defenses.

  • Overheat (should KO most pokemon, you can always switch out to reset your Sp.Atk if necessary)
  • Energy Ball (covers most weaknesses)
  • Shadow Ball (STAB and in lieu of any better moves)
  • Psychic (powerful and covers more types)

Or maybe switch in Substitute for the last one, I'm not sure...

i think get flamethrower over overheat as overheat will harshly lower ur Sp.Atk.. which could prove bad sometime >.<
No! you gotta love the extra power Overheat gives!!
Same with Fire Blast.
I suggest:
Overheat ( Pokemaster's reason)
Hex (Burn+Hex= DOUBLE DAMAGE)
Flamethrower (Burn the opponent)
Psychic (Good coverage)

Special Sweeper:

Energy Ball: Covers Weaknesses, Overall Great Move.

Flemthrower/Heat Wave: I Think Shandeeras Sp. Attack is High Enough Where it would be better to use Flamethrower, for the accuracy, but, its your choice:)

Shadow Ball: STAB, Great Move, Covers Ghost.

Calm Mind/Psychic/Nitro Charge: Calm Mind For Raising Sp. Stats, Psychic for Coverage, or Nitro Charge to raise speed while doing damage:)

Heres Another Good Set:

Flamethrower: STAB

Sunny Day: Uh-Huh

Solarbem: Yep:)

Shadow Ball: STAB

Items: Quick Claws for Both Sets, we need speed.

EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Sp. Attack, 4 HP

Nature: Hasty: For A Great Special Tank, and Sweeper at the same time, we get more speed, without lowering sp. defense:)

answered Sep 28, 2010 by Swampert
only comment ( ik this is late as helllllll)
timid nature! :)
Not a bad set, but Quick Claw is banned/looked down on in competitive play.

Shadow ball(stab and coverage)
flamethrower(stab)
energy ball(coverage on ground, water, and rock)
calm mind(boosts his already uber S.attack)

ev train S. attack and defensive
nature modest
item meadow plate

This move covers all weaknesses except dark which cannot be covered do to lack of focus blast
SF please don't accept any best answers for now, especially not your own ;)

Let's see...

Energy ball-covers grass and ground weakness.

Shadow Ball-STAB, covers ghost weakness.

Overheat-He's probably going to switch a lot, the stat drop is a small price to pay.

Confuse ray/hidden power[fighting]-confuse ray if you feel risky and want more sweeping time, or hidden power fighting to cover the rest of your weaknesses.

this guy doesn't have time to set up with stat boosters, he's strong enough already, so he needs to just go in head on and kill.

i think you meant covers water and not grass?

Post-Memento Switch In

Chandelure (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SAtk / 36 SDef / 220 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Flame Charge
- Substitute/Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

Team with Dugtrio. Now you have plenty of time to boost your Speed stat. When you have high enough Speed, you can then either set up Substitute to protect against Sucker Punch (the biggest threat) or you can choose to go for the Heatran and Blissey KO with Calm Mind. Shadow Ball and Hidden Power Fighting get perfect neutral coverage.

Are u Kidding flame charge On the worst attaker in black!??!?!?!
Flame-charge is not for damaging, it is for boosting his Speed stat. Think of it as a mini-agility.
Interesting moveset.

The saddest of all movesets: Physical Chandelure. Yes, you must be like, what are you thinking, he has 55 base Attack! Well check this out, it actually works.

Chandelure

Chandelure @ Life Orb/ Leftovers
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk,-SAtk)

  • Swagger
  • Psych Up
  • Flame Charge
  • Astonish/ Frustration/ Return/ Payback/ Giga Impact/ Substitute

Shadow Tag is a huge part of this combo and you will see why. Swagger raises by two stages the foe's Attack and confuses. I normally switch into Blissey or Chansey, as they cannot do a single thing while i keep using Swagger. I then use Psych Up to copy all the Stat raises. Flame Charge is to correct his low Speed and is STAB. The last moveslot is all up to you. Astonish is a terrible move but is some Ghost STAB. Frustration and Return do some decent damage. Payback is just some normal damage. Giga Impact hits tremendously hard but there is that recharging that's very annoying. Last but not least, you could use Substitute on him for blocking Status. Life Orb is the preffered Item for hard-hitting but Lefties can be used for healing the damage that you receive.

P.S: What ever you choose in the last moveslot, Heatran is the best counter. If you choose Substitute, he completely walls you. Fortunately, he is rare in DW Ubers.

Best set ever.
Thanks xD
That is pretty clever.
cool set. I NEVER thought a Physical set for Chandelure would work. Thanks for convincing me otherwise :)
Lol, it's a semi-gimmick set, it kind of helped me sweep a guy, but I doubt it's very reliable.
Counters that are used in uber, Giratina (Normal for last slot), and Tyranitar for both.
Peeh, I tried =-=
The kind of set that nobody sees coming

Chandelure (F) @ Life Orb

Trait: Shadow Tag

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Spe

Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

  • Shadow Ball
  • Fire Blast
  • Energy Ball/Hidden Power Ice
  • Pain Split

Shadow Ball is STAB and has accuracy definitely reliable.
STAB Fire Blast hits ridiculously hard coming off of Chandelure's base 145 Sp.Atk stat, And Life Orb boosted.
Energy Ball is used to hit water and rock types, Mainly. Completely destroys Gastrodon and the likes.
Hidden Power Ice hits Dragons for super effective damage, But doesn't really have any other use outside of that.
Pain Split works well with Chandelure's good base 90 defenses and "eh" 60 base HP stats.

Hahaha, Quiet nature doesn't increase Sp Attack and lower Attack, that is Modest!
^^'
sorry about that, i edited it a little here in the answer after making it on PO.
Thanks, fixed.

This one screws up for others enter image description here

Ability:Flash fire/Flame body/Shadow tag( choose whats best for you)
Nature:Calm(+SDef,-Atk)
Item:Choise band
Trick- Switches your useless band for something maybe good and ruins the opponents strategy
Clear smog- Ruins the foes stat changes
Confuse ray- Screws your opponent
Toxic/Will-o-wisp/Pain split- Ether for hurting the opponent or staying in

Ability: Shadow Tag / Flame Body

Nature: Timid / Modest

EVs: spA spD Spe / spA Spe Spd

Item Choice Specs / Choice scarf

Flamethrower / Overheat: Obvious stab, but flamethrower is for the timids who cant take the stat drop.

Energy Ball: Provides type coverage.

Shadow Ball: Stab!

Psychic: For fighting types; some fighting types can learn stone edge, a key weakness to chandelure. This move cripples them.

Item: Life Orb
- Flamethrower/Heat Wave- high power STAB
- Hex- works great with Will-o-wisp and STAB

Chandelure (M) @ Wide Lens
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 200 HP / 252 SDef / 52 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Inferno
- Hex
- Telekinesis
- Protect

Telekinesis and wide lens helps with Inferno, which in turn powers up Hex, giving the foe massive damage. Protect is for the burn to hurt the opponent more, and shadow tag ensures that he cannot switch

Here's what I'd use:
Strategy: sweeper
Nature: Timid/Modest (Timid for mire speed, Modest for better SP. Attack)
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 SP. Attack, 4 HP

Moves:
Shadow Ball for awesome STAB
Flamethrower, same reason as Shadow Ball
Energy Ball for coverage (dang Blastoises!)
Calm Mind for whenever you get a chance to boost stats
Ability: Flash Fire

Energy Ball - Coverage
Hex - Works well with toxic/ability.

Another moveset:

Item: Eviolite

Curse - Takes half your HP away, but casually damages the foe.
Pain Split - Heals Lampent after using Curse
Toxic - Take down foes
Flamethrower - STAB

answered Jun 2, 2012 by Porygonz
Why eviolite on a Chandelure
He's talking about Eviolite Lampent.
