The second best lc gen 1 fire type
Vulpix
Flamethrower/Fire Blast
Body Slam/Quick Attack
Fire Spin
Confuse Ray/Quick Attack
Flamethrower is the best accurate stab for it.Fire Blast is a bit risky, but is more powerful.Body Slam can paralyze and helps it not be useless against things resistant to fire.Quick Attack is to finish things off,but is very situational.Fire Spin is a gimmicky gen 1 Wrap type attack.Confuse Ray is for hax and possibly chip damage.Maybe you can use Quick Attack if you don't want it to be super gimmicky. Also,it doesn't have anything else.Overall, this thing is a worse Ponyta in every way,at least in gen 1.Only thing it has over ponyta is confuse ray.

1. Weather ball is better consistent STAB, flamethrower is never used 2 confuse ray and fire spin are useless 3. In sun, with STAB, on a special attacker weather ball still does more damage than body slam, even when resisted, plus rock types still wall you anyway. 4. Quick attack has very limited uses, overheat or energy ball will always be more useful. 5. Vulpix hits harder, is special in a meta where many mon run higher physical defences than special, has energy ball coverage to hit water types, and setting sun for other fire types or solar beam users. It’s generally considered to be MUCH MUCH better than Ponyta, OHKOing most of the mate when running choice specs
Please make your set PS! importable.

@Pepperproduct This is Gen 1 LC so no Weathers and Weather Ball wasn’t even in Gen 1...
Sorry, didn’t realise
I literally said gen 1. How could you miss that? Also, confuse ray is its only good move other than quick attack.

Vulpix @ Choice Scarf/Choice specs/Life Orb/Heat rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 56 HP / 196 Spa / 236 Spe
Timid/Modest nature
- Weather Ball
- Fire Blast/Will-O-Wisp
- Overheat
- Energy ball

Please note:

Do not use heat rock unless you have a Pokemon that GREATLY benefits from sun, such as charmander.

Only run modest on scarf and webs sets, and even then, either nature can be used

You might ask why we have weather ball and fire blast. It’s because weather ball has increased accuracy compared to fire blast, but fire blast can still be used if and when sun runs out. Full disclosure, you don’t use fire blast too much, but it’s better than anything else Vulpix can run, other than maybe will-o-wisp, but even that isn’t all that helpful compared to just pressing an attack

Gen 9 ZU
Snow and Aurora Veil setter

Vulpix-Alola @ Icy Rock
Ability: Snow Warning
Tera Type: Nah
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpDef
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Aurora Veil
- Blizzard / Freeze-Dry
- Moonblast / Dark Pulse
- Encore

It’s baby A-Ninetales that functions exactly like A-Ninetales. Icy Rock keeps Snow up longer and is used over Light Clay since that’s banned. Aurora Veil is a great support move. Blizzard / Freeze-Dry are Ice STAB. Blizzard is more powerful while Freeze-Dry hits Water types. Moonblast or Dark Pulse for different coverage options, since A-Vulpix doesn’t have the Fairy typing. Encore can trap your opponent in a move and give your teammate a free switch. A-Vulpix is to be used as support for Slush Rush Beartic, since it’s the best snow setter in ZU and easier to pull off than rain.

If this is for ZU, shouldn't you post this on the moveset thread for Alolan Ninetales thread since this isn't for LC?
I don’t know the rules for this scenario.
I mean, LC and ZU are two different formats so...
If you want me too I’ll move it.
