Unown can only learn one move, Hidden Power, which makes it pointless for any kind of battling.
So all you can do is choose a type. Ground and Fighting are super effective against more types, but also have no effect on certain types. The best all round type would be Water or Rock I think.
And yes, Choice Specs would be the ideal choice since you're only using one move anyway.
